Yes, I certainly agree with that.Tim K. wrote:

You travel 500 meters and use 100 joules and elapse time is 2:00 minutes. You then travel 500 meters at twice the velocity (half the time), the energy formula is correct and you will have consumed 400 joules. However, because you traveled at twice the velocity you did it in half the time (1:00 minute) so you did 4 times the work in half the time therefor power output is 8 times the first run but total energy expended is 4 times.

Thanks Chris, Christopher and Ed.
Just read about your hour of power result Armando. Truly amazing regarding both total meters as well as the increment of the gain to your last recorded PB.

Got one. Was feeling really good and decided to go for a PB, then died a bit in the middle but finished strong to get the PB and over 15500.

Yes it is, and thanks. Kind of demoralizing for my PB to be only 82% in my category this year, but I guess I'm not built for distance.G-dub wrote:Awesome stuff maestroke (it's Steve, right?).
And Graham Benton set the world record today, with a split faster than my 2K.

Congrats Steve to a strong PB. The 1 hour-results do seem to be a little above average compared to the others; it´s my lowest percentile of all ranked workouts. You are part of the group ahead of me

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
This one hurt a lot. I tried hard to get out quick and hold on to a 1:39 avg split and I finished just a touch off target. Had to dig deep the last 300 or so, started to think I could just stop and all the pain would go away haha. Feels good getting the PR though, tough to quit when you know you're making good time.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
1:00 - 1:24.7 avg pace. PB and only third time in memory I've attempted.
IRL is 1:00 this month. Gave it a shot a few weeks ago, negative splitted to a 1:25.4 pace, same as July for the CTC. Positive splitted today with approx. 1:21, 1:25, 1:27 on 0:20 splits for the final 1:24.7 avg. and a stroke rate of a very ugly 47, not a decent full stroke among them. Thinking I need to follow conventional practice next time and up the DF a bit. Was like pedaling downhill in the small ring. And form, could use some work there.
WU was 30:00 to just under 8200 with 10:00 splits of approx.:
1:54
1:52
1:46
Nice 1k Chris

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Nice PB's guys.
@ Chris 1k is always really hard. In my opinion the best tactic is hold the avg pace that you want for first 700m and the for last 300m shorten the slide, get spm up, and fire the rocket. If you do it well, you will don't remember finish but you will have PB![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

you can not go beyond the 8 ' ' ends fast because the creatine phosphate and lactic acid builds up immediately .
