Going to do your traditional 1500m trial as well?
From what I saw at Southampton, I'd say self belief is what you need to work on.
We all know you're good for sub 6:30 at a comp, you just need to as well .

I believe that my current 2k is a pretty accurate reflection of where I am at the moment but with some hard work I believe that I can get that lower and yes break 6:30. When I did my 2k PB 6 days before my disaster at Cardiff I had built it up over about a week, starting at 1000m and adding a 100m a day until I got to 1400-1500m and then had a days rest and just did it. This seemed to help mentally because then in the back of your mind you know you have built upto say 1500m with no problem and its just a case of holding on for another 1min 36secs or so, easy . Im not saying this is the best way to prepare for a 2k as thats a lot of high intensity rowing in the build up to a race when maybe you should be tapering but it did work for me. Lets hope it does one more time.

Carole - you deserve it me darling!

Been working on the 30min challenge for the past few days. Started off with 3x10min at 1:52.5 @ 26, moved onto 15min + 10min + 5min at same pace the following day and then 20min + 5 min at the same pace yesterday.

Seems to be going quite well and still targeting 8k+. However, thought I should draw a line in the sand so I did a 30min row today. Managed 1:54 @ 25 giving me 7888m. Felt OK, and there's more in the tank.

Looks like a good start Matt
With those interval sessions and still a week to go, you should be good for comfortably over 8k.
I'm also targeting 8k plus, just to bring it in line with my 10k pb. Not sure I'm in the shape for it at the moment though
