That's a great picture! :D Just how much more weight do you plan on losing, anyway? Aren't you LWT now?

Well, when I took that photo I was probably about 13 and a half stone (189lb or 86Kg). Now, I'm about 11 stone 11 (165lb/75kg). Really, I want to get under 11stone, and I think 10 and a half would be about right for me. When I was 21, I was 9 and a half (133lb/60Kg).

Looks like my 10K attempt is gonna have to wait a bit. Had a go at it tonight and lasted just over 1K. For those who don't know, I hurt my tailbone (coccyx) during the 50K relay on March 26th (the seat hadn't been positioned for me when I plonked myself down very hard indeed).

Suffice to say, I wasn't able to row through it and the pain got worse and worse everytime I drove with my legs. I'm gutted!!

Indoor rowing had been a real positive in my life recently so I'm really disappointed with this set back. :(

Niall,

That is disappointing and frustrating for you. Hope it clears up soon.

And, because this is Taff Attack, I have to add . . . bummer! :D

Hey Marie please do a 10K

it's only about winning for the elites. For me it's clocking up metres, losing weight (5Kg since december when i got the machine), having a laugh with you lot. I'm etting better and this has been a great challenge for me to push myself AND clock up loads of metres.

Anyway me and MrsT are a bit lonely down in boat III and we need your company. If we can actually fill the boat we can get some DP's (DarenPoints) which to me might become yet another motivator.

And as you know, Ive been wattching your 976K for some time and I'm dying to see you smash the 1 million mark.

Come on Coach

Hey Niall,
Sorry to hear you have your a** in a sling! That sounds like just no fun at all.

Daren wrote:Here's an interesting factoid. Until recently, I mentally pronounced "seat5" like this; "say-at five". Like the cars (Seat). It was only some time in the past month or so that I thought "oh, hang on, it's probably seat, as in something I sit on".

Crazy.
It was my seat in an 8.

When I was a kid, I thought the word "sweetheart" was pronounced "swee thart" and even now, when I see it written, I can't help it, that's what I hear.
So even though you know it's seat like a chair, I'll bet you still hear "say-at-five"!

Re: CTC
I never realized there was any point system to it at all, I thought it was just each month by itself and you try to get the fastest boat. How do the teams earn points, by getting more folks into boats? Can you explain it?

Carla

daren already put points up on the CTC, check under the boat position

Looks like 1 point for the lowest ranked FULL boat then 2,3,4 etc up to the best boat

I guess a number of things could come from this eg

each rower in the boat could be awarded the points for that boat - these could accumulate over time like the drivers championship in Formula 1.

Say the Top 3 boats for each team could take their points each month and the Teams could be ranked against eachother like the constructors championship in formula 1.

You could have most consistent, fastest lightweight/heavyweight, Male/Female

Once points are awarded there is no end in site - I love it - nice one Daren. Now we need the league tables:-)

Mr. Seat5 took some photos of me for the Old Crone Taff photo contest (can't compete with Krysta in the Miss Taff contest! )
But how do you stick them on the forum? There isn't any "add a picture" button.
