Since Bobbie Z and Jim C have been mentioning the holidays, here's a reminder that the Holiday Challenge is 2 weeks away.

If you row over 200k (50k for kids and adaptive athletes), Concept2 will send you a pin (make sure your address is correct on your profile page). I worked at that 200k last year during a really busy time at work, I received my pin and then my cat promptly batted it off the table and around the house and now I don't know where it is.

Here's some additional information from the Holiday Challenge page:

Preparing for the Holiday Challenge

If completing 100,000 or 200,000 meters in a month is a new challenge for you, here are some ideas to help you prepare:
- Don't be intimidated! Every year people who have never completed long distances complete the challenge.
- Gradually build your workout time. Try adding an extra 1000 meters per day, especially if you don't usually complete 7000 meters at a time.
- If you don't usually workout every day, try rowing/skiing for several days in a row. The workouts can be short, but see how it feels to row/ski more often.
- Keep some stretching in your routine or add it if you haven't been doing it regularly.
- Think about when you will fit your extra Holiday Challenge rowing/skiing into your schedule. If it requires you to workout at a different time of day than usual, try it out ahead of time to see how it feels.
- Plan ahead so that you can make up any missed meters due to travel or other commitments.
- Pace yourself! Many people have commented that the Holiday Challenge pushed them to row/ski more than they ever thought they could, and it felt great! On the other hand, it is not wise to make a sudden jump in the amount rowing/skiing you do, so keep this in mind. You can build your daily meters gradually, even during the challenge itself.

That's it for today.
Have a great day! It's almost Friday!!

Hey Team,

I have been kind of quiet of late and haven't been rowing as much. Cross training with cycling, weights, kettle bells and rowing. I recently hit the stair master too. I will get on board for the holiday challenge though and will try to get exceed my FTC totals. I have revised my goals for the season, with all my cross training I just hope to average 100K a month for the 2015-2016 season. As long as I close out this month strong I will be on pace at 700K plus in 7 months.

Yesterday I did a great workout of 10 minute row - 210 kettlebell Snatches w/35 pound KB - 10 minute row - 300 kettlebell Swings w/53 pound KB - 10 minute row. The endorphins were flying by the end of that! Have a great Thanksgiving holiday, I hope you all have much to be thankful for!

Just a heads up:

With the new logbook upgrade, there is the potential for uploading duplicate meters. I uploaded my meters today, and my entire week's worth of meters got re-uploaded. I had to manually erase several day's worth. As much as I wanted to get credit for the extra meters ...

Happy Friday!
So far I don't like the new logbook upgrade. It is not as compatible with my spreadsheet but I think I can make it work. I'll have to check what's changed on my personal page.

7 made it out for a row on Thursday
Jim C 12,500
Ray W 11,246
George  M 10,000
Lee C 8,342
Angela P 7,823
Jack F 6,579
Glenn Yan 2,510

59,000 team meters
22,954,107 total team meters this season

upcoming meter markers
Angela P 32,933 m to 1,050,000
George  M 1,624 m to 950,000
Glenn Yan 3,480 m to 75,000
Jack F 37,944 m to 750,000
Jim C 25,000 m to 1,400,000
Lee C 3,957 m to 100,000
Ray W 6,533 m to 1,500,000

Yay for us!
I think i'll take today off...

Less than 1 week until the Holiday Challenge - I will track estimated totals.
Do we want to set goals?
Don't forget to select a charity if you will be rowing over 100k.

John B - keep it up!! You're doing great!

Have a great weekend!
(Thanks, Bobbie Z)
- Angela P

I take it back. I like the new logbook.
