Best Way to Gauge Posture and Form During Erg Sessions

Post by Romper » October 31st, 2015, 8:13 pm

When I erg ed before, I was always wanting to see myself rowing on the ERG in real time to ensure I was rowing correctly.

I tried using a camera hooked up to a monitor. Mirrors are an option, but placement, sizing, safe mounting options are uncertain.

What do you recommend and/or use to gauge your real time feedback during your ERG sessions?

Best tool is a big mirror. Like the kind you put on the back of a door. Set it up so you can see your full drive by placing it about 8 feet to the side, a little bit forward and angled a bit upwards. The idea is to make it so you don't have to twist too much to see it, which defeats the purpose.

Thanks Greg. is this mirror to be orientated horizontally?

Which side is preferred - right or left?
