Hut ab vor Hardy!!

The discussion between helm and engine room made me think immediately of Jens Voight--optimist, gamer, comedian, hour record holder (bike), and athlete for all seasons and weathers. No better model I think. Shut up, Legs!

That's a great time, congratulations!
Your documentation of the inner dialogue made me chuckle. I experience some rather profound 'time dilation' effects sometimes on the erg. Part of my conversations goes a bit like this:
Body: this is way too hard, we should stop. time is dragging on indefinitely and we'll never make it
Brain: isn't this amusing, I complain about how fast time goes by and that I wish time would slow down a bit
Body: stop trippin! This is BS, I've had enough
Brain: let's not, instead, live in the moment. Take that minute and make it 10, Be Here, Be Now! With time dilation like this it will feel like I've lived forever by the time I stop!

Thanks guys. Probably I will leave the protagonists of the little endeveaour and the resulting discussion at rest for tomorrow. Meanwhile the fill-up of the glucose reservoirs is being endorsed by the third pint of dark beer. Cheers!

Masterful pacing! Only 4.3" total spread. Clearly 80' is in sight for you, HD.

Nice PR's Hardy. Kinda proving out the "make lots of meters" approach to training. Curious to see how you hold up as the distances get shorter and the need for speed starts to kick.
Helluva job!

Excellent! 2.00 HM is one of my goals. You've given me the confidence to get on and do it!Galeere wrote:Brought home another PB, this time on the HM. Scooped off over 2 min and totalled 1:23.24,9 by going

Nice work Galeere
Over 2 mins is an impressive feat.

PB for 30 minutes of 7518 meters.
I can remember when I started rowing in March, I could do just over 6200 meters!
Did a general workout for the 1st 4 months. Started doing the Pete Plan in late August. It's working. I'm just getting started!
I'm using jogging, crossfit, mountain biking, and general wt. lifting to help expand my fitness. I'd been away from all types of fitness for quite a few years until spring. I squatted 315 lb x 8 the other day.
5'10"
200 lb
Will be 50 yrs old in 3 months.

gitting those PB'S Hardy,
gonna have to get on bonefixers wagon and go for a sub 2:00 HM.
I quite like the distance and usually fo one a week for 'recovery* - capped HR (145).
usually around a 2:07 pace, never tried to push it that much tho - you have given me the motivation to do so.
