LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
For those looking for some additional challenges, particularly sprinting challenges, I see a monthly challenge on Facebook.
It's called "Concept2 monthly challenge group".

Hero Pumpkin
Well, thanks! My lonely little pumpkin isn't going to win any competitions for size, but I have to give it big marks for trying! While all of the other, many (many!) blossoms came to nothing, this little guy hid in the middle of the tomatoes and is now hanging precariously from the top of a tomato cage. (I only found it when I was pulling out all the finished tomato plants. Very exciting.) I have no idea if a tomato cage will support a pumpkin ... even a petite pumpkin. Perhaps I should stack a few bricks under it, for support; or make a pumpkin hammock out of cheesecloth and put a Margarita alongside.danwho wrote:Congratulations, Minnie !!!
And I must say, that's one fine pumpkin.

Congratulations to all the milestones in the last couple of days, no rowing for me over the weekend, had the back-pack on and was out in the magnificent Australian bush!
And on pumpkins, love them, but I have never been able to get my head around a pumpkin pie? Any good??
Cheers, Baz

Yes, pumpkin pie is very good. And so is Victoria Bitter, which you have access to and I do not. I had it in 2006, when I was in Sydney. Last I checked I was unable to purchase it in the United States. I love pumpkin pie, but I sure would like to get my mouth around a Victoria Bitter again. Count your blessings, my friend! Okay, little one, it's time to choose:
Pumpkin Pie or Victoria Bitter, 'cuz you can't have both.

Now rest assured I do like a beer, on occassions, but must say VB has never been my thing. But then I grew up (I'm using the term loosely) in Queensland, the home of the mighty Fourex brew!Tombeur wrote:Yes, pumpkin pie is very good. Re: He's A Meter Multi-Millionaire!
Thanks so much for the nice words folks. I am sitting here on the old grey mare even as I type. I have 8K in this morning so far and must push on for some more. I am the big metre man on the little team. We are holding third place but the team behind is closing in. I am getting tired. My splits are getting higher and higher. Only a few more days to go. Yeah, I know, I've said it too often but I just don't understand how some people can put in so many K day after day. Totally amazes me.Edscapade wrote:Awesome Congratulations! Go lunes go!!! That would be so cool if we both finished third. Grin.
Way to go to Chris and anyone else I may have missed along the way.
Pull harder one and all.

.... and in danger of hearing the Spirits speak....and FOUR days of Challenge remain....go for the glory!
Hooboy! Almost 25,000 active users on the Concept2 meter tally! We are going to have a banner year with the Holiday Challenge...because ever so many people just START their Concept2 journey then. And then one day, the Holiday Challenge user becomes a more regular contributor....it's an awesome process!
Wait...what are you saying?! Fight extinction! Row and ski-erg more! Lest you think I am digressing from "our Lunie purpose"...I do think that rowing and ski-erging are a means to support being able to do a LOT of other things, especially of the outdoor variety.
Grand Junction's downtown area has a ton of sculptures. Some are permanent installations, and some are visiting. My focus on this last trip was far too narrow....the Grand Mesa, the world's largest flattop mountain, and its hikes await. There's one called the Crag Crest Trail that will fit the bill of stunning (might have to resist the urge to yodel). It's part of the National Recreation Trail system (hiking novice that I am, I had not heard of this...but there's a state by state listing so you can find one of these near you in the US... http://www.americantrails.org/nationalr ... index.html Things to add to next June - September's list of activities! Here's a photo of the trail...

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Along with peanut butter, pumpkin pie is definitely a cultural comfort thing (in my never to be considered humble opinion); and don't get me started on sweet potatoes baked with marshmallows on top. So wrong; I don't "grok" any of the above. Naked peanuts are fabulous, as are oven-roasted pumpkins and sweet potatoes as savory vegetables, or sautéed in curries ... mmm. I'm still looking at my solitary high-hanging pumpkin and wondering how to prepare it; I know what it's NOT going to be.BAZzy wrote:And on pumpkins, love them, but I have never been able to get my head around a pumpkin pie? I don't really remember much about the AUS beer, only that it was very, very plentiful and very, very good. (Foster's notwithstanding.)

Funny thing about beer, drink enough and it is always hard to remember it But, hey I am yet to find anyone that likes Fosters!just27 wrote:Along with peanut butter, pumpkin pie is definitely a cultural comfort thing (in my never to be considered humble opinion); and don't get me started on sweet potatoes baked with marshmallows on top.
