LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

A member of an indoor rowing team or club? If so, this is the place for you.

Can this one team row to the moon and back?

I'm guessing that some of our year-round Lunes aren't looking at the forum regularly, (hard to imagine; we're so delightfully social and statistical!) and don't realize that you have to sign up specifically for the Fall Challenge. Perhaps a couple have opted to row on a non-virtual team, just for the FC, to help that team win stuff.

Then again, if like me, just been slack when it has come to rowing over the past couple of years...

Mind you, getting back into the swing of it slowly - quite enjoying the change from other training regimes!

And on football...how is our Rugby League star, Jarrod Hayne's going with the 49ers...I'm resisting the temptation to say that the NFL stole him from us. He played in our local team... B)

Cheers, Baz

Why aren't more Lunatics signed up for the Fall challenge?
For my part, I wanted to but also knew it would definitely encourage more rowing. My rib stress fracture has not healed yet & I don't want to cause more harm. Still rowing, just less & lighter resistance.

Bummer. Those take a little time. Take care, Steve, and well wishes.

:!: Agreed :!: Thanks guys. Will continue lighter & less frequent rowing, which is not my usual approach  .

In the harbour city this weekend… yep, Friday here already!

Blue skies, 30 degree (celsius) days, the Rugby League Football grand final, (our team “The Cowboys” is in it and will win!), light afternoon breeze predicted on Narrabeen Lake tomorrow, so will be down there on the kayak and BBQ afterwards for sure, and a long-weekend coming up with a public holiday on Monday.

Strewth, how good is that – wouldn’t be dead for quids…

Us O’Malley’s will be Out and About having fun for sure, so I’ll need to be up in “the shed” at silly o’clock in the morning’s for a row just to fit it all in. Don’t worry – I reckon pre-dawn is magic!

Anyway, good weekend to all Lunatics, good rowing, and have fun (crikey, we won’t be holding back!) B)

Cheers, Baz

Apologies...out of time

Post by Kona2 » October 1st, 2015, 11:52 pm

I am riding in the Tour of the Moon ride on Saturday in Grand Junction. I will not be able to do the stats until Monday. Please celebrate wildly over your and each other's accomplishments. I just ran out of time.....

Image Wowzer! And it's THIRD place for now!

I know. But after seeing the Lunies FTC in third place, and getting such a good bike riding mantra from DDRR, I was inspired to do a quick stats write up. Mind you (as Bazzy would say), I have yet to pack anything but the bike stuff. I've got my priorities right. Back in the day when I first arrived in Colorado, Coors was still sponsoring the Coors Classic bike ride. One of the sections was Tour of the Moon. I have never ridden this section, and am still pondering whether I will go for the metric century through the town of Fruita or just go for the Colorado Monument Classic ride of 41...I am pretty sure that 41 is going to win, and that the Fruita section can be a nice drive on the way home.

Season meters as of 152 or 3 out of 365 = 60,916,039 m (wow! 60 million!)

Million Metre woman!

Post by Thor MW » October 2nd, 2015, 10:52 pm

Janice hit her first million metres today. She began rowing this season around May 12. So, her first season and lifetime million. A good Luna Tic for sure. Grin.
Have fun K2. Hope those ribs become thicklish again soon Steve.
I am thrilled to see Jim cranking out some metres too.
I don't remember the last time DRR was putting in this many K. To think I was using him as my rabit. Yeah, right!
Great work to all.
Happy rowing.
The reasonably mighty Thor.
