Welcome all new team members! I am going to stick with my 150K prediction, wish I could do more but I am doing a 300 Kettlebell swings a day challenge overlapping with the first half of the FTC. Go Team, and yes I probably am crazy.

Thanks for the cheers! Yes, I'm rowing well this season, thanks to all the grand bike tours: the Giro d'Italia in May; Tour de France in July; and now la Vuelta in Spain. For some reason, I row much better (stronger and faster) while watching the bike races. I love it when they go up really steep mountains; I can just about keep pace with them  . With the bike races over, I'll find incentives in the September team challenge; then the Christmas challenge (have to keep adding to my pin collection) and then the next team challenge in January. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep up the momentum: my weight has definitely come down. I've lost ~27 pounds in the last 15 months with only another 10 or so to go to fit my true self-image and clothes.

Additionally, I ranked one of my better 5 k rows, only to find I was in less than the 50th percentile for my age group; then went flat out and got a better result that put me in the 60-65 percentile -- at which point I said enough. I can only row so fast if I want to get 20 - 25 k done per session.

And all this rowing has definitely improved my cardio--like we need proof? Joking aside, I rowed my fastest EVER 5 k lap and my heart rate at the end was 132 bpm. Back in 2004 and 2005, I was hitting 160 routinely. So, I'm pretty happy with these results.

Welcome to all our new members. Make sure to add to the posts to help revitalize our team pages: some people are quite clever and have posted humourous pictures from the web (not always rowing related either  ). Sadly, I'm not one of the clever ones.

All the best,
Heather

Hi team,

Been struggling to get my meters in lately, with the cross training I do it's a real challenge. Right now I am doing a 30 day 300 Kettle-Bell swings a day challenge that runs through September 30th. I am committed to my 150K FTC goal too and realize the two will overlap for a couple weeks. That's gonna be fun! Go team! Congrats Heather! That's incredible. When I grow up, I hope I can be half that good!

John B - you need more kettle ball! (yes, that was a bad joke)

I have a question for all of you - how do you post a photo to your forum profile?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Angela, if you look up at the top left corner of this page, you will see the "User Control Panel" link. Click that, and on the User Control Panel you should see a "Profile" tab. Select that, and you should then see how to upload a picture. If I remember correctly, it needs to be a pretty small picture.

I hope this helps!
