Not too much sharing Angela, it is great to hear about each other's journey, challenges, etc. I do think rowers as a group love to eat! It sounds like you have made great progress already, devil dogs not withstanding! It's been decades since I ate one of those. :D It you are going to do more weight training, consider Kettlebells. they are one of my favorite tools in the gym. KB's are second only to my beloved rower. They make for very dynamic workouts that are demanding from both a cardio and strength perspective and have the added benefit of burning lot's of calories. Working with them will really get your heart going, so make sure it is right for you. Actually it is Bobbie Z who was going to weight train, nevermind that last bit. To keep your rowing improving, try some of the WOD FROM Concept II, I have them emailed to me. They will help your master your stroke and the intervals will help you improve your performance as well. It's great that you are focusing on your form too, I always checked back with myself to make sure I keep my form on target.

Cheers,

JB

I agree with John, the best thing you can do is mix up your rowing workouts. Do some sprints one day and do some long rows another day. Losing weight as we get older does not get easier, but does require more discipline. Apparently our metabolism slows down, and with it our caloric needs. Ultimately we need to burn more than we consume, and everyone is different in that regards.

Today I pulled 790 strokes and rowed 12,000 meters in just under 48 minutes. That's about 16.5 strokes/minute at a drag factor of 156. I think I am finally getting the hang of this. Of course the big boys put these numbers to shame, but it is nice to set a goal and see improvement over time.

Started doing a little rowing again after way too long an absence from Team TimbukTOO! :)
Why do people celebrate getting a year older?

Hi all

I've got a Concept2 since a few months, but have just realised that there is more than the machine. There is the virtual log book and even more exciting - there are virtual challenges.

My name is Marcel, and I am from Lucerne/Switzerland. It would be my pleasure joining you in your team. Is this fine with you? Are there any rules I have to follow?

Have a great start into the new week!

Marcel

Welcome aboard Freddie! Glad you could grab an oar, or two even! Angela, Friday and the week turnover sneeks up quick in this dog days challenge! Great job on the meter tracking! What the heck I will put an oar in the water and set a Fall Team Challenge goal early. I will aim for 150k and hope to surpass it!

Hello Marcel! We would love to have you come aboard and row with us! Absolutely no rules except have a good time and let us know of your progress or if you are having any rowing troubles that we may be able to help with. Not that any of us are experts, but we probably experienced the same things at various times in our rowing journey.

Welcome aboard!
