When done rowing just hit send and it goes to your Logbook Just tested it short term 20min and still going. Is that enough Time?

normadelaney wrote:Danno and Thor, this is useful info! But Thor, are you saying that not turning off is unique to the PM5? I have a PM4 and being able to take a bathroom break without timing out would be great. I have an iPhone 5 but don't connect it to my PM4.
Sorry Norma. I meant when you are finished rowing you need to force the PM5 to shut down or it never will and the D batteries will be used up in a matter of days.
When you connect using the cord (PM3-4) or blue tooth (PM5) the PM will not shut down allowing for wash room breaks and so forth.
When you disconnect the phone or device from the PM3-4 the PM will shut down as normal saving the battery. To shut down the PM5 one needs to press the menu button 4 times quickly.

The really good thing about using the PM5 is there's no cord needed so I can keep my phone plugged in to a power supply and I don't need to worry about running out of battery charge on the phone.
I guess the key to using the IPhone 5 with the PM4 is make sure your battery is charged and close all other apps before rowing to conserve battery. also I have the phone talking to me and I'm sure that must use more battery as well. Something you probably won't need to do.

Have fun.

I have the pm5- I've only had it for about a month, but no battery issues. I had not noticed it not shutting off. If I go back 5-10 minutes after I finish, the screen is dark/blank. Does that not mean it is off? Do I need to push menu 4x?

I do use it with my iPhone and the Bluetooth. I do turn off the Bluetooth on my pm5 when I finish my workout.

Hey Brianacp
As long as you turn off the Bluetooth you are fine. Yes, when the screen goes blank I believe it is off. I will have to see if the same command turns bluetooth off as on. I've just been forcing it to shut down with the menu 4 times quickly. That also must turn off the Bluetooth since I have to turn it back on each time I go to row which is only a two button command so not a big deal.

Happy meters.

Tried to upload a too big photo to my avatar and it's not working very well. The photo below is the original version. I only have Roxio to work with on these things, so suggestions are welcome. And yes, all three of us have big hoofies....flippers as Minnie would say.
