LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Happy Birthday Statistician Kona2
Happy Birthday, Adele; I hope that you’re having a wonderful day and are as happy as a chimpanzee without pants! Wishing you many more glorious years on the surface of the earth - or wherever on the Luna trip that you happen to be.

Crossfit Games have started. Not the same without Rich and Jason and a few others. Still liked it better at the Ranch Can be seen on ESPN3 and Crossfit web site

Not a cross-fitter but enjoy watching the competitions. Thanks for the info, Richard. Will set the DVR. Something to watch & motivate while on the treadmill or rower

Yes Rich F not Richard T and jason are on Teams. I find it so Amazing the best athletes are From the EAST. But then again I call the East up to the Mississippi River or Colorado border sometimes depends who's winingdanwho wrote:And, on Aug 1, 'Rowdy' Ronda Rousey Rocks Rio.Drivetofast wrote:Crossfit Games have started. All In A Couple of Days of Erging! Team Progress Thru 7.22.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes ! I've had a couple of days of golf out of this birthday, and am ready to focus on Concept2 once again! I did capture the numbers yesterday, but didn't get time for posting - so all will work out. And Richard T, anything east of the Mississippi is East...but not all the best athletes live there. Hahahaha!
Hope Jim is recovering from when the dog bites. Thought I might be reporting a similar instance today after walking my dogs yesterday evening (they were on leashes). I was on one of the Broomfield Open Space trails. There are some new homes that back up to the trail, and most of those homes have pretty small yards. A large dog jumped out of his yard - there was some ineffective coiled fencing up against the wrought iron fencing, and came at us like a bullet. Thanks to Jim's posting, I had my pepper spray at the ready. My K9 Kona, oldie Goldie that she is, was knocked down in the attack. While there was much gnashing of the canine teeth (theirs not mine), a large rock thrown at the feet of the attacking dog deterred it long enough for the pet sitter to come out and grab the dog (I didn't want to use the pepper spray - might have zapped myself yesterday - but I was prepared to do so if necessary). There were witnesses to this attack, and a report of an overly aggressive dog has been turned in. Maybe this will stop the dog from actually biting a walker, jogger, cyclist or another dog. People have to be responsible.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Sorry if I’m late for the happy birthday wishes K2. Glad the big dog encounter went ok. I didn’t see anything on Jim? Does anyone know if he is doing well?
Norma and Robyn, heroes for sure!!!
Man I hope I didn’t forget anyone.
Thor’s hammer appears to be made of Nerf. I am very surprised how much stuffing I lost in a month of not rowing. I did a UT2 10K piece today. I found it a bit too tough. Not a problem, just a factor. I will be back to hefting the big hammer again soon I’m sure. I am just so grateful to be able to get back in the saddle again.
Have fun all.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
After some consideration, I find I have no wish to be censored. We cannot please everyone here as many wise people have noted. Sometimes bad things happen to our teammates and out of compassion for what they are going through, we all reach out through the forum. There are good and bad people as well as good and bad dogs. We'll talk about what is relevant to the team.
That clarified, Jim how are you doing?

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Truly sorry I have caused bad feelings on the team. I love dogs and don't even carry pepper spray or other deterrents.
Had my stitches out today and some bad news. Infection may be in my bone (big dog, big teeth) . Have to go next week for mri or ct to see exactly where. Dr says bone scraping and port put in for continuous iv. Told Bobbie' s dad we could have port to port calls.
A lot more serious than I thought, 12 mile bike ride turns into this. But having all your support in forum, and knowing how many teammates have much worse to deal with, I can handle this.
And drat, wanted to lead team this year, but as a true Cub fan, wait till next year.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I'm sorry to hear of your complications, JIm. I hope your tests come out well and that you heal quickly and that you are back in action soon. Since joining this team, I have come to admire you for your courage and chutzpah! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and pulling for you with every stoke on the Erg.brotherjim wrote:Truly sorry I have caused bad feelings on the team.
