LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Luna shots??!! Is that like jello shots made with Can't-you-just-feel-the-moonshine? I'm in. Need to get numb anyway before these summer sprints.
This is of course referring to the 'Carolina' crater. And also serves as an important reminder, whenever you're taking a trip to the moon, bring a pillow.
Welcome Briana! And also welcome and welcome back to Danie, Laurie, and Anna.

An NZ company makes "Moon Joos Jel Shots," which purportedly cannot be experienced anywhere else this side of Jupiter.danwho wrote:Luna shots??!! Is that like jello shots made with Can't-you-just-feel-the-moonshine? I'm in. Need to get numb anyway before these summer sprints.
Who knew! This is like another of Kona's bunny trails. (And I obviously need to find something useful to do, this afternoon.)

And congratulations to Richard and Ian for putting up some Summer Sprint numbers. Hope to give that a go soon.
Stunning Photos of Pluto, Er, Pluots.
A stunning image of Pluto. Or, was it a pluot? Whichever, I vote for reinstating it as a planet; messes with my head when I do the planetary mnemonic. My Very Earnest Mother Just Served Us Nachos is uninspired ... though Many Very Educated Men Just Screwed Up Nature has potential.Kona2 wrote:And, finally, don't miss the New Horizons Pluto Fly-by tomorrow! Thanks for the congrats. Watching Mission Pluto and they keep saying 3billion miles from earth, which is closer than Pluto will be in our lifetime. I was wondering since our inception as a team, how close are we to the nearest planet?

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
We are far far away.....I calculate that we have traveled 1,070,000 km since we were "we" as a team. While this is roughly 3 moon trips, it is a mere trickle of watts and distances towards Mercury.brotherjim wrote:Thanks for the congrats. Mercury is 91,691,000 km from earth. That makes it about one percent...but it's a FINE one percent!
