Really clever job, Jack. I did wonder just where the bungees are. You do show how one is attached in that one closeup, but I couldn't tell where they were placed on the conduit in the other pics. Black on back just does not do it (just as on a lot of the confounded new electronic gadgets in which the printing is essentially undecipherable). And what is the red tube. That one is a puzzler.

Nice installation Jack. A real handyman!
So there is good news with Jack being able to cool himself now while I unfortunately have bad news: I caught some sort of a flu-bug, feeling totally crappy. I will have to leave the Concept2 alone, hopefully not for too long. I don´t know if thats going to blow up everything with regards to the sub-7-goal by end of July but it might come close to it.

Hi Bob. The four bungees hook to underside of each bridge, cross over the top of flex pipe following one of the accordion folds (so not easily visible) and again hook under bridge. The red tube is wire loom for light gauge electrical conductors. In this case carries the PM sensor cable from up front to the PM, cable from PM to the HR pickup on the rower beam, USB from the PM for my PC running Rowpro (white cable draped over monitor arm in pic), and power cable from wallwart converter to Mity Brite music light velcroed to rear of PM. This is mostly for organization but also for protection of lightly-insulated connductors which are prone to breakage from pinching/bending.

And the stuff you didn't see? There's a mount for an iPad running ErgData and a USB to mini30 connector for that. Sore-No-More pad on Endurerow replacement seat, rear Shoxbox, up on carpet-covered ethafoam blocks in the front. I'd have slides if I had room. There's an Omnikey card reader on another senile PC. Currently looking for fender skirts and a roof visor.

Not the end of the world, Hardy. Rest up and don't start back on the training until you're really ready. There's time to accomplish what you want. You can hang here and pontificate (as Dub says) any time you've a mind to. Jack

Rest up Galeere and get well. Next week is week 4 and I was going to suggest a change of pace change anyway just to recharge for second cycle. I was also pondering extending PP to make it 12 weeks (did I just say that). Either way, you are making progress and will continue to do so.

I agree with Glenn. National holiday coming up for some. Tour de France starting. Wimbledon? FIFA women? Maybe we could dial it down long enuf to salute summer and enjoy this sporting life. Not saying I'm suffering from exercise psychosis, insomnia, irritability, compulsions to think ahead, cook for a week, and scribble in day planners. Not saying I ain't.

5 minute wu/cd; 30 minutes @ 2:05
I'm leaning toward doing more 30 minute rows solidly in UT1 vs going 40 minutes at UT2 on the steady distance day. With warm up and down I get around 10K anyway. And someone famous said you don't get much more out of it after 30 minutes.

I have people coming in on Thursday - Sunday. Will take a bite out of the Saturday speed session. I plan on finishing this week out as strong as can. Then depending on the time of day I'm supposed to go rafting on Saturday, squeeze in a 3 X 750 on 1:30 rest - my favorite. Then gear up for a 5K TT Wednesday or Thursday of the 4th week. Week might include and abbreviated endurance interval session on Monday or Tuesday, say 3 X 1500. So I guess I am going to do is shorter interval sessions and more focus on a 5K the 4th week with one additional rest day.

Week 3.3
Endurance cascade
Pace target 2:14.7 from 11 June
Df 110
2K w/up, 2K down

Blowjack personal cooler appears to be suppressing HR creep. This one really made me happy! I celebrated with a little rate 44 sprint at the end of the third rest. 2:11.9 av. I may not be so happy when that number comes round 3 weeks hence.

Good job Jack. I know off the problem when these heavenly numbers are striking back at us as evil pain in all sorts of body areas B) . But three weeks hence you will still smile at them, blasting away with your nice installation.

Great session Jack. I just got a second fan that has much more power, so am looking forward to seeing if it keeps creep as under control as your contraption did.

Thanx for the encouragement. Puts a bow on my day. I wasn't confident about time/distance equivalence on rest periods using the Rowpro inyourface. Figured I might take more than 5' or paddle 500m too quickly and go with short rest. Stopwatch app on the IPad provided a reference to keep the error to less than 15"+/-. Is there a WR for most accurate rest period guesstimation?

Glenn, i'm going to stick with the interval work as long as I can. I really need (and want) the neuro-muscular adaptation to speed that Greg speaks of. 2:00 to 2:10/500m is ho hum for you but to me it's a foreign country. By fall, i'll be back on the trail of steady state endurance. Jack
