You have a population of just over 294,000,000 and the U.K just over 58,700,000, so the stats show that of course you will get more medals than us, but, that also means you have more losers than us, a lot more

Sir Pirate
Dwayne...

No attempt at 'creaming' you at all.. I've worked with the US military for many years now, after my 22 years in the Royal Air Force, so I can tell you I'd rather be associated with the 'Yanks' than many a European counterpart..

Just so long as you understand that in the Olympics, this allegiance comes firmly after the commonwealth countries...

Cheers mate.. I'll sod off now..!

Good night for the brits at the olympics tonight all round really. USA should have walked that 4 x 100, and it's only because their baton changes were so bad they lost it.

Also, how come the greatest ever US track and field athlete, Michael Johnson, does the olympics commentary for the BBC, and not for a US TV network? He knows the best place to be.

Also on the Brit news front - another British Indoor rower going sub 6 this week, and a light one at only 85kg. Definitely one to watch over the next year or two....

In terms of medals should not the Americans be down at last one? After all Hamm is going to give his inappropriately obtained one back or to the Korean, isn't he? On the other hand, perhaps not - given the American sense of fairplay as demonstrated when Geoerge W was "elected" in Florida.

As a two bumper stickers I recentlly said: "Don't blame me for George Bush - I voted with the majority!" and "Save America, defeat George Bush!

Ned Eustace
Irish by birth, Canadian by choice, partly french and NOT American!

I think it's wonderful that you once-great Britons are feeling so chipper. You're doing nicely for a cute little island nation.

Tom Rawls
