I'm curious, since the U.S. has one of the highest rates of osteoporosis in the world, how do you know there is no harm that comes from taking calcium tablets and all the other pills of various sorts.
I suppose it would be true if all of a sudden there was no more osteoporosis in the U.S., as result of all the medical advice, but to the contrary it doesn't seem to be making the situation any better.

I'd like a source for this because I can't confirm it. I do see data that anticipates high rates in Asia because of the increasing aging of the population. And it is certainly true that the US population is older than that in, say, Nigeria.the U.S. has one of the highest rates of osteoporosis in the world

The concern of the typical medical is drugs, not exercise or good eating habits. Take a look at the food served in most hospitals, where their standard of care is the highest.
A man I talked to a few years ago said he was taking 13 medications prescribed by his medical, and he had no clue what they were. His wife said oh that's nothing she was taking 19 medications and also had no clue what they were. Her diet was horrenduous, and she died a few months after that.
This is the typical medical advice that people are given in this country, for example through all the medical ads on tv.
In my opinion the best thing people can do to be healthy is avoid them.

Of all the reasoned, legitimate examples you could cite of glaring flaws in mainstream medicine, that's what you came up with? Read it again, and see if you can't find six reasons it's a non-starter. Like any large, diverse group, MDs, PAs, & NPs have their share of honest-to-god quacks and single-issue cranks. (Much like this forum.) Factor big pharma and insurance into the healthcare mix, and you have a system in serious need of fundamental changes.
