If was on the water I'd rather be in a kayak, and there is good evidence that kayaking will be much better for your rowing than going out in a boat where you can coast along at low rates.
With all your years of experience on the water you'd have to know what your talking about. So you've tried both kayaking and rowing and found that kayaking improves your rowing more than rowing does. And you have good evidence to prove it.
Plus it is only possible to coast along in a rowing boat but not in a kayak. Wow that's amazing stuff.
Well I better go and sell my new rowing scull and buy a kayak.
Before I do that, just one question John. How do I give my legs a workout in the kayak or do you suggest to only use my upper body when rowing on the erg? I assume PERathlon does the rest for you.
PBs: 2K 6:13.4, 5K 16:32, 6K 19:55, 10K 33:49, 30min 8849m, 60min 17,309m
Caution: Static C2 ergs can ruin your technique and timing for rowing in a boat.
The best thing I ever did to improve my rowing was to sell my C2 and get a Rowperfect.
