I wish that Concept 2 would invent a "Snow Shoveling Simulator", in the same way they created a Cross-Country Ski Simulator and a Rowing Simulator.

That way we could contribute our actual "out-in-the-snow" shoveling meters to the team, just like people add their "on-water" rowing meters or their "on-trail" skiing meters.

Because in the last ten days we have received over four feet of snow, and it is currently snowing, and will snow again tomorrow and Sunday.

So ... I have not been rowing much.

I can relate to what Heather wrote about the weight issue. I put on almost 20 lbs after surgery, and it is hard getting rid of it........

Brilliant!!! :D :D

Sorry about all the precipitation. Please truck it here when it melts.

I bet the calories per meter shoveled is WAY higher than calories per meter rowed, so you got that going for ya!

No? No Erg-guitar? OK. How about some inspiration for our rowers in deep-freezes around the country?

So after several years, I've decided to leave the team and row to open waters. It was a pleasure to have met you all and look forward to watching the team's progress in future challenges, albeit from afar.

Izz and Lisa, as I've said so many times before, thank you both for all the hard work that you've put into the team. It was, and is, greatly appreciated by me and everyone on the team.

Row strong everyone and good luck to you all, wherever the currents take you.

~Ron

Ron, surprised to see you're moving on, but i wish you the best and will miss your post.

I had 2 30 min competitions since last Friday. The first I came in 2nd in my age group and yesterday I came in 2nd overall. I can only say what a difference it makes when you have another racer on your heels for the last 15 minutes, I rowed at a 2-3 sec faster pace than I normally do when I'm not in a race. It really forces you to dig deep. I had a 50 meter lead from 3rd place rower with 15 min left and new 1st was too far ahead for me to catch. I figured I had 2nd and started to let up and save my energy for the finish, and 3rd started his move and within 5 min he was only 15 meters behind. It's funny how the mind starts messing with you, a big part of me said let him get ahead you I don't have the energy to fight this guy for 10 more minutes, but My pace was getting faster, which I can never do on the 2nd half of a 30 min piece. I finished with a 10 meter lead and was really happy I held him off at the finish, and didn't let the give up attitude win.
