Very nice!! And I'll echo Ron -- where do you get to call home?lcantey wrote:

Yesterday Bel C (my 12 year old daughter who joined the team recently) got to play.
And I didn't know Bel was your daughter! (smacks forehead) I love how our team has a lot of family ties. That's great!

I meant to mention it when she joined. She was almost as excited as I was when I finally got my rower the beginning of this year. She hadn't rowed before since she couldn't go upstairs at my gym but she'd been interested in trying it out for awhile (plus she covets my Concept2 shirt). We try to alternate in rows and are having a lot of fun.damselfly wrote:lcantey wrote: And I didn't know Bel was your daughter! (smacks forehead) I love how our team has a lot of family ties. We're giving everything up to join Glen Baker's cult in Central Oregon. (Even though he's slumming over in Portlandia these days -- bigger river, go figure.)ronmardix wrote:May I ask to where you are moving?damselfly wrote:

Here's our new view, but we have to put a house there first. It's a nice little community outside of Bend/Redmond in CO. When my hubby retires we'll move there and build. I get to keep working to support us for a while after that.
And before anyone gets to thinking we're some sort of Wall Street bankers or something, this was a low-priced lot. There were plenty out of our price range, and they have THIS view. That's the thing about the Cascades -- lots of high ground, ergo, lots of views.

Sooooo. Have you been to this house to introduce yourselves? My recommendation would be to walk up, ring the bell, yell "We're here!!! What's for supper?" and see how it goes.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I gotta say I'm really liking Flickr. I had signed up YEARS ago but haven't really used it. With the iPhone app and all the features it has now, I think I'm going to be moving all my stuff up there. The only failing seems to be not being able to generate the BBCode for a forum post within the mobile app, but there's a workaround for that.
As a matter of fact, I found a bunch of pictures stashed there that I'd lost due to a corrupt hard drive years back. It was an amazing surprise!! Some of family that I had really mourned the loss of. Funny to think of all those 1s and 0s just sitting quietly there all those years waiting to bring me joy.
Anyone using any other photosharing sites that they'd recommend before I take the plunge?

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
We did meet the residents on our last visit. They were very friendly to us even though we said we were from California. In fact we chatted for over an hour. That's about 5 times longer than the TOTAL amount of time we've spoken to all our immediate neighbors here over the last 15 years.ronmardix wrote: Ah. That makes sense.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Which brings up a whole new thought. I'd love to learn what all of you do for a living. If you're retired, I hate you, but never mind, what did you do when you worked.damselfly wrote:I get to keep working to support us for a while after that.
I'll start...
I am a technical trainer. I teach corporate clients new skills in computer programming, Web development, how to use in-house applications, things like that. Before I got involved in training I was a computer programmer, and before that I was a flight test engineer on the flight ramp at McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach, CA (before Boeing bought them out).
Wow, so that pretty much sums up my entire adult existence in one or two sentences.
What about every one else? Mind sharing?

Nice, I grew up on the other side of the Cascades and used to visit the Bend area quite a bit. A very nice area.damselfly wrote: We're giving everything up to join Glen Baker's cult in Central Oregon.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Too funny. We had the same experience when we moved here. We now have actual humans that we interact with on a regular basis. We never even met our immediate neighbors in SoCal.damselfly wrote: We did meet the residents on our last visit. They were very friendly to us even though we said we were from California.
