Hate the rest days during challenges, but there's no choice. I've been increasing distance and trying to increase pace at the same time. Not a good combination when I'm trying to strengthen my back. You'd think that I would've known better

Row strong, Bobbie, I may be seeing your wake for the final week.

The Denver indoor rowing championships start this weekend. Friday night I'm entered in the 30 min race with 30 others and am a little nervous, but looking forward to the challenge. I'm not sure if I can use my log card in a competition, does anyone know? I would like to add those meters to the team challenge. I'm glad they have distance races of 1\2 marathon, and 1 hour row and 30 min. I don't see that on other regatta central competitions, I'm not sure why other cities don't offer distance races, I know most serious rowers focus on the 2k as the ultimate challenge for strength and endurance, but there seems to be a lot of interest in these distance races. There is over 300 entries overall, it grows by about 30 to 40 people a year. I'm glad to see the growing interest in this competition, because I believe the erg is such a great tool for getting into shape. Check out the competitions in your area by going to https://www.regattacentral.com/

Wow Doug, that's great!! Very exciting!! I am not a competition person but am a bit in awe over those who are. Best of luck to you and please let us know how you do!!

I don't know about the log card question, but I don't see why those meters couldn't be logged in your logbook like any others. You wouldn't necessarily need your card. Just write down the distance and time and enter them by hand. That's how I do mine. I'm strictly low-tech ( with regard to logging meters anyway!).

Maybe some of our other mates who have competed can weigh in with their experience.

Row strong!!

You're pulling your weight and then some. 15k rows and almost 100k for the challenge hardly sounds like slacking to me. You're doing great and helping the team chug along just fine.

Very cool and good luck. Most of all have a great time - enjoy the experience. I'd love to hear about how it went.

I'd love to compete one day if I can get my back strong enough to make a difference.

Doug, rowing a regatta is quite intimidating to me! The fact that you're doing it is stupendous. Hope you see a PB. Like Lisa, I write down my times in my trusty little book, and enter on the computer. One step up from papyrus.....

Lisa, glad to see that you're feeling better. (And if you are NOT feeling better and are dragging yourself out of bed, get back in bed!)

Ron, my middle name is Stubborn. So if I said I was gonna do 300K, I'll do it even if it kills me. (But actually, I'm feeling pretty good.) When I saw that coastal Ocean County NJ is supposed to get blizzard conditions with 24-30" snow, my first thought was, "Dang! I can rack up some extra meters on Tuesday!" When I'm not digging us out. Who said something about snowshoes? I haven't been out in my this year.....

Everybody stay safe, row strong.
