Say, isn't that a power hammer in the background? Isn't that sort of like attaching a motor to your CII?

Hello TimbukTOO Team,

I haven't rowed much the past few years but would like to join your team for the VTC challenge to help you win and motivate me to get back into erging and shape.

That is a 110 lb air hammer, meaning the head weighs 110 pounds plus the dies, hits 180 times per minute, you cannot do this work for a living without one, and it is fun to run..... I cannot hit 2" stock with a hand hammer, too much mass to move without POWER.

Lisa and Izz, I've been trying to send you two a message in here, but the darned thing is stuck in my outbox and isn't being sent. So, I'll post here and everyone else will have to close their eyes. :D

I'd like to offer my services to post meters and updates in the team room. I may not be able to post every day, we're all very busy, but if I can be of assistance especially during challenges, then I'd like to help.

Thanks Ron!

The reason things get stuck in your outbox is that's where they live until they get read by the recipient. Interesting user experience!! I was confused by it too.

Thanks for your offer!! I've PMed you a response.

So the message is in the Outbox until it is read and then it goes to the Sent box?!?! So, in effect, the message is read before it is sent.

Nudge? He reached through the tubes, grabbed my throat, and told me to get busy or he'd change my background image to a picture of Alfred E. Newman with a bandana on his head. Geez!

Too bad OTW meters don't count, we're still able to get in nice workouts these days (side benefit of global warming). I've discovered that trying to erg after a workout on the water is not particularly successful...

Yes, Ron, if a tree falls in a forest, and no one checks their outbox, it doesn't make a sound.

Just as the band is getting back together, I have to take some time on shore leave.
What I thought was arthritis in my right hand turns out to be tendonitis.
It could be from rowing or weight-lifting- or a combination of those and other factors.
But I am going to try and avoid the minor surgical procedure on my hand that would mostly clear it up, by resting the inflamed tendon.
The good news is that degenerative arthritis would have been a real bummer for the rest of my life. Tendonitis will most likely clear up.
My goal for this Challenge was attainable and in sight- but.... a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. For now that weak link is a tendon in my right hand. Go figure.
So, I will step ashore and live to row another day.
I'll be back!
