Whoop, whoop and hooyah! Congratulations, Ron, on achieving 30 million lifetime meters! Since you are a relatively young old geezer, we wish you many, MANY more!

Another canoe....whoa...the camouflage must have been really good for me to not see so many at once...

I'll be rowing regularly through January (rowing is what I do when my trail running isn't available due to short daylight hours in the winter); would it help or *hinder* the team if I were to join on the January challenge at this time? I know we're already a week in to the challenge and I wouldn't want to bring down any average or whatever... I don't row a ton 'o meters (18,000 to 20,000 a week) so I'm just wondering...

Anyway, all, I'm happy to be back and joining in on the looney fun as I row away in my garage solo-style.
I've been "gone" since October 2009 - before you even joined! Just came back a couple of weeks ago. So ... WELCOME BACK!!

The Luna-Tics are definitely a welcoming bunch - and every metre counts. Join the challenge! We are very glad to have you with us.

Welcome back!! Once a Lunie always a Lunie! Every meter counts and those are good numbers you are doing per week. Thanks for coming back.

Happy Rowing,
Ed

Just rowed my first half marathon since becoming a mom and getting back into rowing. Even rowed it faster than my previous ones, although I am always going to be the tortoise. Pretty pleased!

Good on ya, Kerry! I imagine it's especially tough to set aside a couple of uninterrupted rowing hours, with your little one around. So, extra kudos for this HM.

Thanks! I am using a little vacation. The little one is at daycare, stepson in school and husband at work. Have to admit it is wonderful to have a little quiet time to myself for a few days. It is the perfect time to try a good longer row.

Hi all.
I’m not going to try to catch up with all that was said the last few days. You guys are wonderful for all you’ve done while I was out of the game. I am back had a little cupboard door in the eyeball and it was swollen and sore for a bit and I didn’t think rowing would be a great idea with a swollen eye. Yeah, I know, what the heck to I care when I’m blind anyway, right? Haha
Well I just did a 20K row and that is probably the most I’ve done in one sitting. I was shooting for 25K but the battery on the phone was running low. It is on charge and I’m still deciding if I can toss in another 5 or 10K before shower time. So far I still don’t have any idea how some of you can row so much in one day. Relatively speaking I’m still a pup at 49 years of age.
Welcome back to all that rowed before me.
Ron, amazing!
The music world has Stevie Wonder… the rowing world has Thor MW. Haha I kill me.
Love Thor.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 1.07.15

Post by Kona2 » January 8th, 2015, 6:36 pm

Day 8 in our Bubble Universe....!

Hooboy! It was the longhorn cows that did it. There I was, coffee in hand, watching the morning news. National Western Stock Show Parade downtown at noon....100 head of longhorn cattle being herded down 17th Street in front of the newly revamped Union Station. This I had to see. Cows in downtown Denver. It was awesome! And happily, the street sweepers were the last batch in the parade route!

The photo below is from the National Western Stock Show website - better view of the Union Station....but a gray day!

Meanwhile, the rowing and ski-erging teams have been busy - and I see that we have some of that weekly update stuff going on. Some of the teams only update their meters once a week, or a couple of times a week - and it can seem like they swoop in out of nowhere to bump other teams out of the way. Curses! Foiled again!

Looks like we have a few more canoes to put into the water! Good stuff, and may they stay right side up with all the rapids we encounter!

Kerry Wow! another hero for me. Grin.
Thanks to all for showing me what can be done. now it's up to me to do it.
If you will all excuse me please. I am going to find a corner and curl in a mass of quivering jelly and suck my thumb for a while.

Some silliness anyone?
You swear you heard the PM laughing in a mocking way at your efforts.
