I'm seriously done with this one.

Anyone know if Graham is going to do it again? I'd love to see how fast he can go. I'm bettin' somewhere in the 42's (if not faster).

Dwayne

I think Graham can top that. After all, he did have a consistant 1:05 for the 3k relay. I'm guessing he'll go in the 1:10 pace range. Something in the neighborhood of :58.

Offhand my guess would be that Leo Young might have pulled sub-1:00 for a single stroke.
(Rob Waddell)

The Rob Waddell 1 min sprint time I think might be a myth. I asked him personally and he said he's never rowed a 1 min sprint before. His max pull is also 1:04 like Benton, although if Rob tried it nowadays I think he could beat it as he's a lot bigger and stronger than in his rowing days, although not as fit.

I heard that Parvel had pulled a 0:59 split, so tried to ask him at Crash-B 2 years ago if this was true but he hardly speaks english so couldn't understand me.......... either that or just didn't want to speak to me

Leo Young's max pull was a 1:05. There is a topic on the UK forum where he talks about it.

I do have a photo of Benton pulling a 1:05 while he was doing a 10 sec sprint a couple years back. Just after I clicked the camera, he then hit 1:04. I might still have some video footage of him pulling a 1:04. In Nov 03 at a practic session for the 100k we had the camera on the monitor. If I can find it, maybe I can pass it onto Niall to maybe upload if possible? His first few pulls were crazy. Something like 1:38, 1:16, 1:07, 1:05, 1:04 :o

Jon
I have seen Graham pull a 1:04 split. This was while training for the 100K WR. We had just got changed and were waiting for the start of the training session, so we were just messing about.
A few were doing low pull tests, Graham sat on the machine with no warm up and pulled a 1:04 on his 4th stroke, then got off. Some of the guys did not see it so we said to Graham to do it again, so he got on again and pulled another 1:04 :? . He did slow down a bit and we got a picture of him at 1:05. I will post it later if I can find it.

He is a lot stronger these days that 2 years ago. :o

Sir Pirate
