Buy local vs Concept2 site vs Amazon
I'm wanting to buy the Concept 2 Model D (PM3) Rower. Here are the 3 options/places to buy from:
1. Buy Local in town. $1300 (has in-home warranty and usual concept2 warranty)
2. Buy from Concept2.com. $1300 (after shipping/duties fee)
3. Buy from Amazon.ca. $1030 (free quick shipping. concept2 warranty)
Which would you choose?
Thanks!

Seems like a no-brainer to get it from Amazon. The rower itself is simple to assemble and once assembled is virtually indestructable.
If Amazon has the PM4 as an option I would consider getting that since I believe it also comes with the Garmin heart rate monitor.

The only reason why I wouldn't get it from Amazon is if I would need the in-home warranty.
Amazon.ca does have the PM4 but it costs an extra $155.

I picked mine up cheaper than anywhere else I could find from a reputable place that I've done business with before. I'm extremely happy with their service and shipping was spot on.

I had a look at Rogue as well but I believe it was more expensive with them since I'm in Canada and there's shipping/duties to cover.
Re: Buy local vs Concept2 site vs Amazon
I'd spend the extra $$$ on the PM4 over the in home warranty. I assume that it covers pick-up/return if there is an issue but in reality it's just store profit since the probability of having an issue is very low. Hopefully I have not jinxed you with that statement.cdnconcept wrote:The only reason why I wouldn't get it from Amazon is if I would need the in-home warranty.

I don't have any experience with the PM3 but for me the PM4 made sense. I would skip the warranty as well.

Just bought a Model D (black) with a PM4 from Amazon. Has the "do you want it delivered by" option, which means I got it quick. I ordered Tues. and had it by Fri. No shipping problems or damage. Easy to assemble.

I'd like to chime in here. Regards of where you buy your erg, local, Amazon or C2, remember the erg was built by C2. And if you ever need anything, advice, replacement parts, how-tos, etc., C2 has a great customer support system. And reasonably fast shipping if needed. Unlike some software companies, they still support older models. So if there's ever a question or concern, you should make them your first stop. End of commercial ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

We got ours from Amazon - total cost about $1002 after shipping/tax. Since Concept2 gets their (wholesale) bucks anyway, it doesn't faze me to shop around for best "retail" offer.
Re: Buy local vs Concept2 site vs Amazon
I just got my Model d two weeks ago. Im a newbe.
Got it from Amazon.
The Amazon price was $900.00 for the PM5 model D.
I signed up for the Amazon CC that gave me $70.00 off that price.
Free delivery included, w/normal Concept2 warranty.
Once I got my CC statement from the new Amazon CC, I transfered that over to my 4.9% CC.
My total bill for the Concept2 Model D/PM5 was around $830.00
Now I call that a deal!
So if you get it from Amazon, you might want to look into the CC from Amazon where they will give you a discount for applying.
THEN, transfer that over to a less interest card, or pay it off.
It's a total win!

I agree as I went with C2 as they do have excellent customer support, I live in Ohio ordered on a Monday it arrived on Wednesday. I almost went with RogueFitness as they were only 65 miles away but they didn't have the model E in stock.TabbRows wrote:I'd like to chime in here. Concept2 has excellent relations with both Amazon and Rogue and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend either one. The pricing is almost always the same and in some cases the shipping may be quicker than getting it from our factory in Vermont. The machines are all covered by the C2 Warranty and backed by our tech support and customer service regardless of where you purchase them. C2JonW
