2K 60-69 HWt leader?
It may or may not be surprising as to who is atop the 2K rankings. If anyone can make sense of the very lengthy comment in the profile, please clarify right here. Note to moderator: If and when this ranking is deleted, please delete this topic.

Re: 2K 60-69 HWt leader?
As a heavy weight - hmm - veery interesting. There is a possibility that it could make the difference. Making weight was usually a major stumbling block. But then, why not use verification?
Incidentally, I doubt that entries such as that are ever deleted. Ranking entries are not like forum posts. Note that the entry did not get the #1 label - it is just listed first automatically.

An email has been sent to C2 requesting that the ranking be looked at.

Sounds like a possibility, but I haven't seen anything about it on the UK forum. I would have thought that they would be making some sort of comments on it.gregsmith01748 wrote:I bet it's Casey having a bit of fun.

Re: 2K 60-69 HWt leader?
It could simply be an entry from the delusional one (he who has been banned from here) with what he thinks he can do at 63 yrs old. Without a verification code it has zero value.Bob S. wrote:Sounds like a possibility, but I haven't seen anything about it on the UK forum. Re: 2K 60-69 HWt leader?
Don't think that there is much doubt that it is from the delusional one. No one can pile up the BS like that except the original. Like I said, an email has been sent trying to rectify the situation.

He never posted fake times. Casey is a big fan, not of his erging but his stirring things up. Looking rapidly his times in races got worse this time is 100% false. I looked at the entry and it has all the signs of Casey.Cyclingman1 wrote:Don't think that there is much doubt that it is from the delusional one. I believe the person you refer to was an English Professor at University of Michigan and from my recollection his writing style was first class. It looks to me as though someone has just thrown together a selection of his posts which are still accessible via the search function on the UK site. The really strange thing is why anybody would do that. Maybe someone can track the IP address of the culprit?

Re: 2K 60-69 HWt leader?
I had missed something here. I had wondered what Jim meant by the "very lengthy comment in the profile." I had not realized that I could get the profile by clicking on the mail symbol. I tried that after reading KevJGKs comment about writing style. Now that I have seen and read it, I notice that it seems to have an item addressed to me which must have been just added today.
It does have a similarity to lot of the old thousands of posts on this and the UK forum, at least in the kind of claims made.
I think it still leaves open the question - some one else playing games, or a new way for someone who is blocked from the forums to get messages out? The ranking data and profiles are outside the forums so they are not subject to forum monitoring.

It'll be interesting to see what Concept2 do about it. Their honour based ranking system does have some deficiencies in terms of verifying users and verifying results. How many folks are left who'd want to use a PM2/PM2+ for a ranking distance? Perhaps the time has come to only accept ranked items with PM3/PM4/PM5 generated verification codes (or from trusted sources like races, the C2 utility & RowPro).

Re: 2K 60-69 HWt leader?
Citroen,
That really is the answer. If you're serious enough to be challenging the top spots in the rankings, then there has to be a minimal level of commitment to at least use a PM3 monitor. I do my PT attempts at a public gym, they're generally witnessed, and I have gotten in the habit of submitting with IND_V. As I understand it the only way to "game" the system using verification codes is if someone else does the row. If I have it right, IND_V means that the recorded numbers happened that day on that machine. Not to hard to implement. You want a top ten ranking? Must be IND_V, Row pro, C2 log card, or a race result.

The Wolverine prof was, according to his former students, the same autodidact in the classroom that he was in this forum.
