Lets get it on - see pumpkin photo above as it is not "that" kind of statement says K2

Richard T and I are going to have a pumpkin growing contest this next year. Since I do not have a huge garden space that I am willing to devote to just ONE pumpkin, I am going to try and get a 100 to 200 lb pumpkin. One that hopefully still looks like a pumpkin! Some of the big winners for the giant squash are coming in at 2000 lbs, and are like big pumpkin blobs. Apparently, we have a bit of work to do to get the soil ready for this adventure, and that soil prep starts in the fall before the spring/summer planting. Stay tuned for pumpkin progress reports - and if anyone else wants to enter this pumpkin challenge, I think it would be a Lunie thing to do!

i have a black thumb when it comes to plants and gardens, so i will enjoy reading about this contest....2000 ibs,,,that's a lot of pies and breads....and gooooooooo pats :}

Yet another non-rowing Lunie team building motivational project! Sounds fun. I'm in, with my garden corner already scoped out ... do we share seeds, and information about soil prep? Are there extra points for avoiding K-9 intervention? Will there be a printed beer stein for the winner? Do we have to eat what we grow?

You will have to talk to the Comissioner K2 Also Pumpkins do not grow well at altitude. Maybe a spot of 50 lbs or more for K2 A lot is on the line here
