Ugh, that time of year again, for me. On Friday I got a pinched nerve in my upper back, near my right scapula, and I foolishly rowed through it ... I never learn. Hasn't been too bad yesterday or today. I am thinking of going for an easy row, but dang it I am such a creature of habit and ritual and am so OCD about times and distances that I never take it easy or slow. So I will play it by ear. I was hoping for 250k for this challenge, but as always I focus on the full Season, and I am ahead for the Season. So I can afford to take a day or two off.

I know that story. It took me several years to finally come to grips with the new reality of an injured back. Every time I'd feel good, I would row to my pre-injury pace, all the while telling myself that I would take it nice and slow - yeah right.

I decided recently to simply set a new bar and relegated all times/distances prior to my injury to the archive pile.

Good luck with your injury.

Take it easy Jim! :( A lot of us have to define a new normal these days. Wishing you speedy healing...

Thanks all for letting me join in the fun! It is unlikely that I'll be able to make any more km contribution for this challenge since I am moving tomorrow (Erg is all packed up.) Good luck on breaking last year's record 11M!

Hi all!

I underwent a very minor procedure which, unfortunately, prevented me from rowing for the past 2 weeks. Everything is good now and I'm back in the saddle :)

Looking forward to putting in some strong rows for the challenge.

Cheers!
Gary D.

Don't have the exploding hair do but I recognize the moment. Would like to reset my team goal to 300,000 as I have a new overall goal for the Challenge.

Howdy! Just curious, are there 71, 77 or 75 members of this team? The competing and recognition are motivating :)

Hi Kelly! We have two teams right now -- the year-round affiliation that you joined (TimBukTOO), and our challenge team for the Fall Team Challenge (TimBukTWO). That's why there are two reports for each day right now, and that will continue until the challenge is over on October 15th. TimBukTOO has 77 members currently, and TimBukTWO has 71.

Our affiliation page is here, and our challenge team is here. Some folks are on one but not the other, but we encourage everyone to join both. Unfortunately, team rosters are now closed for the FTC, so no one can get on or off the team, but there's always another challenge on the horizon! B)
