Hi. I have a Model B I bought off Craigslist years ago. It has a PM2 monitor that isn't working anymore. I have tried all the usual suspects to get it back on- new batteries, check that the cable is plugged into the back of the unit, etc. I need someone that services Concept2s in the Austin Texas area. Please contact me at amijhooper@att.net if you know someone to contact.
Thanks,
Ami

Re: PM2 Monitor service
You do know that you can fit a PM3, PM4 or PM5 to an old rower.
Trying to resurrect a twenty year old, dead piece of electronics is usually futile. The thing that will have gone wrong is that tracks on the PCB will have been irreparably damaged by leaking batteries.

Re: PM2 Monitor service
How easy is it to replace the monitor with a newer version? How much technical expertise in involved?
Thanks,
Ami

It comes with a new monitor arm so you have to unscrew one bolt.
The wire (with a 2.5mm jack) from the flywheel pickup unplugs from the rear of the dead PM2 and plugs into the bottom of the new monitor.
Total time to get it fitted and working: 10 minutes.

Re: PM2 Monitor service
The PM2 was a great monitor and I am still repairing them over here but its just not worth it in the USA, the new monitors are cheap. Still my favourite monitor because I have a 100% repair success rate as long as battery acid leakage has not killed the board.
