Some of you have seen the insurance company commercial that talks about Frog Protection vs Fraud Protection, with both parties sure that they are hearing the same thing. There have been many great misunderstandings in the world, and that's one of the reasons that the play on "sounds like" works so well. And, it sure carries into our everyday world, too. I went to a trophy company earlier this week to order a trophy: the Coal Creek Cup - for my golf league. It will be our first ever Coal Creek Cup tournament, so everyone is a tournament virgin for this one. I know. But it's fun. Yesterday, I went to pick the trophy up. The guy came out with it all wrapped in bubble wrap and proudly unwrapped it. It said "Cold Creek Cup". No. No. No. COAL Creek. He says, "I can fix that." Off he goes into the back room, and time passes. He brings the trophy cup back out. This time it says "Cole Creek." Egad. "Let me have a piece of paper," says I. And I wrote COAL. Back he went into the working area. More time passed. We got it right the third time. I think there were at least two lessons in that one. One for me, and one for him.
And sometimes I miss things like 23,456 vs - I guess I didn't hear those numbers as well as I should have!

I am just getting caught up on the whole last month of postings. Welcome to all the new and returning members.
I hope to be able to begin contributing some meters to this challenge in just a few more days! I have really missed rowing, and missed the team camaraderie we have here.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 9.28.14
Welcome back for the 2015 Erging Season to Ryan and Dennis! Always great to see new and returning teammates!
We're two weeks into it...almost halfway!
There's some new crispness in the air (maybe it is that second hand rain that California is sending us as Minnie suggests), and I'll bet that everyone is winding down the Indian summer activities. Well, maybe our Arizona teammates and Ed in Qatar are not. By the way, mini-bunny trail, I was amazed at how many different ways Qatar is pronounced (and maybe I have said this here before - but I am STILL amazed). There's Ka-Tar, Cutter, Kuh-Tar and on and on. Even its primary residents disagree on how to say the name of the country! I like the Cutter version - is easier for me.
Thank you to our Fall Challenge Team Members for keeping us in the hunt!
