It won't start for another 10 hours (midnight local time), but is due to keep going for 24-30 hours. Predictions are not the same on the different TV stations. I was watching Boston Channel 7 at noontime (2hours ago) and that guy was already scaling back his prediction to only 5-7 inches. I want to believe him . I live a little north of Boston and we're still scheduled to get 7-10 inches, which is still better than the 10-16" they called for eight hours ago.

I'm not looking forward to shovelling heavy, wet snow two days before CRASH-B's.

Rick

I'm due to arrive at 12:50pm tomorrow at Boston airport, so I hope it's not snowed under

I live in Burlington Vermont, and they can plow 10" snow here before breakfast. But I think we have to be realistic: this is a big storm, it is coming right over Boston, and flights are almost certainly going to delayed. I haven't heard that much about wind though, and that is usually what causes the real problems. So if this is a snow only event, they may be able to keep the airport running. Boston is also on the coast, so it may turn to rain there at some point tomorrow. Boston should be able to plow snow too, so it usually storms that hit further south that shut the whole system down (this storm is really 3 storms converging on Boston tonight and tomorrow).

I wish you all luck getting in and in your races.

I live on the west side of Boston. It is around 40F at 8:00 in the morning. This is way too warm for snow. Plus the roads are warm and any snow will melt when it hits. I predict rain or melting snow.

Hope to see you Sunday,

Paul Flack

I live about 2 hours north of Boson in Maine and had about 18" with a heavy wet starter layer. Spent about 9 hours today working on snow removal and related things like cutting down small trees laying across my driveway and hooking up the generator since we were without power for about 5 1/2 hours. I'm definitely feeling a little spent not the way I was going to prep for the CRASH-Bs.

Frank

Only took about a half hour to make minimum pathways necessary to get ourselves and the cars into action. I'll leave the rest of it until later. Maybe my son will take care of it for me? HaHaHa, fat chance .

Rick
Only about 2" here. It was very wet snow and broke a lot of tree branches. But, how beautiful to look at the trees outside! All the roads are clear today and the children want to go sledding.

Cheers,

Paul Flack
