Dog Day Tracking

Post by just27 » August 23rd, 2014, 3:45 pm

Tracking your dog day meters takes some considerable personal effort! By the time it's over, and you officially know if you made it (or not), you're already focused on the Fall Challenge. (Obviously, I wasn't one of those who rowed 40K, yesterday.)

Minnie is talking about the people who have completed the Dog Days Challenge already by doing the whole 40K for the 4th week in the first day of the 4th week (Aug 22).

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 8.23.14

Post by Kona2 » August 24th, 2014, 11:54 am

Welcome back for the 2015 Erging Season to Andrea and Sorin ! Always good to see returning teammates...and glad you found the upload cable !

Image Dog Days.....Has YOUR name popped up on the Honor Board yet?

Unlike some of our Concept2 Challenges where your name is on the virtual board until you fall off the Challenge list, we have to rely on faith in our numbers as we progress through the four weeks of mystery. Glad that several Lunies are watching the Board for Lunie names and meter totals so the celebrations can continue even if I'm missing a day of posting here and there!

Lunies on the Dog Days Honor Board thus far: Well done !

There's probably a Murphy's Law that says something about plumbing "projects" happening at the most inopportune times...not that there is EVER an opportune time for a plumbing event. Earlier this week, I noticed that the faucet in the k-it-chen (noted that this word was marked as spam by Concept2 if spelled out without dashes....who KNOWS what that is about!) wasn't delivering much flow when the lever was on the hot water side. After some diagnostics (which were messy but interesting), the determination was made that there was calcification in the hot water supply line to the faucet....and that this was going to be a DIY home engineering project. Oh no. It is really inconvenient to have zero water to your ki-tch-en.
And, as noted in a previous home engineering diatribe, it is AMAZING how much a mystery a hardware store continues to be, and that it is nearly impossible to make just one trip a day to address the home engineering project needs. In fact, one is lucky not to have to make a trip each four hours. It's all good now, and I have returned to modern society after being in the primitive zone.

Season meters as of 115/365 = 26,928,499 m

Total meters on the days = 593,778 m

And the earth rumbled in Northern California!

Post by Kona2 » August 24th, 2014, 8:52 pm

Whoa....heard that there was a 6.0 magnitude earthquake about 60 miles from Minnie and AJ (and other teammates). Scary stuff. Hope all turned out well for everyone.

We didn't feel it, at all ... but our dog was acting really squirrely throughout Saturday evening ... shivering and shaking, and trying to sit on our feet and between our ankles. If they could figure out what animals sense, just prior to a significant earthquake ...
