750m row.

does the little "r" mean rate or rest?
Rest. Or perhaps retching, if you're doing the test hard enough :)

My advice on pacing would be NOT to start out with a 1k season best, no matter how well the first few hundred meters go - learn from my mistake :)

Bill
Bill has a good point. If you start out that fast, the rest of the test will be shite.

Well this is the first interval I have tried to enter in the old pm3 gizmo. I errantly left off the last 750m. I have it fixed for the next Rugby test.
I set it for
1000m row, 3:00r 3:00.0 pace boat

750m row, 2:30r 2:30.0 pace

500m row, 2:00r 2:00.0 pace

250m row, 2:00r 2:00.0 pace

I oops'd the last 750m have it at 2:30 pace for the next running of the test.

results
1k 4:52.2 19 spm 3:00r
750 3:28.3 17 spm 2:30r
500 2:05.3 21 spm 2:00r
250 1:01.4 19 spm 2:00r
how did I do?:?:

From what I've learnt from those who've done the Rugby Test, as far as pacing goes it's 2K PB pace +/- 1-2 second.

The photos were taken from the video I took over the weekend. So get your requests in and I'll post the photos. I've got an amazing video sequence of Kelly dancing while erging. It's an absolute classic. I'll need her permission before I post it publicly though.

Hi Hal, if you add up your time for each of the pieces, you can compare your total time at www.c2ctc.com

Since it was your first time doing this, I'd say you did rather well. A couple of suggestions: 1. Do the last 750 (of course you know that) 2. Your SR is a bit low. Try increasing it a bit and see if that doesn't help.

All the best on the next one.

This I have to see! How in heck do you dance while erging?

I got my suit! I got my suit! So now I HAVE to row in it at Crash B's. It seems to fit right, they had to make the torso extra long and it seems OK. Do you guys feel like you get chafed at the armhole/chest? It feels like it might. I thought it would be about the same as a one piece swim suit, but it's much stiffer material. Not sure how flattering it is, but Dave says I look like a contender, anyway.

how did I do?Question
Hey Hal,
Well, you hit your targets, and that's good discipline. It's really hard knowing what to even aim for on your first shot. Paul's suggestion for paces based on your 2K time might mean you should reset the pace boat for something quicker. Next time, of course, with the added 750 you'll be able to compare your time with the other CTC entries. And you will be able to tell by how you feel how much you can push yourself on each piece next time. It's the end of the month, and we're going on to a 10K for the CTC, but ifyou still want to work on it, I would suggest using Re-Row and just try to beat the pace boat on each piece by a small amount.

I really hope Kelly gives me permission to publish it. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. She does an amazing job.

Wicked news Carla. Boston here we come!!
I've certainly not noticed any chafing but there again I mostly row with the top rolled down to the waist. When I have rowed "fully clothed", it's felt comfortable.

Boston's gonna be amazing if we can get Krysta, you and I entered! Talk about Taff Attack

Carla
it's got to be more flattering than when Phil wore his a few weeks in the local million metre row with a leg brace over the top. He got some very strange looks from onlookers especially when he left his crutches by the side of the erg! :!:

Lost contact after the C2 Forum went belly up, then had a short-notice week's trip to Europe, so sorry I've been missing and out of action. Erged along just fine until 3/20, and then only one row while away ... did get to run again though, which was nice.

Any update on the April CTC event?

Also, how do I order an AIO?

Cheers ... and regards ... Mark
