I use 'imageshack" and I like to put a small version here, but I only get big images. Anybody can help?

Hennie

There are a lot of ways to do this, depending on what software you have available to you. Here are a couple:

1. If you use a reasonably recent version of Outlook I know this will work...I'm not sure about other messaging software. Try attaching your large image to an e-mail and mail it to yourself, you may be be asked if you would like to have it downsized or to send the original size. If so, pick the downsized version and send the e-mail.

2. If you've got graphics software, you should be able to choose downsize the image (either a smaller number of pixels or smaller dimensions) and then save as a jpeg.

3. If neither of those works, I know this will. Create a trial account at Pbase.com upload your image to that site. When it's uploaded, you'll have your image in four different sizes, plus a thumbnail. View gallery, doubleclick on the thumbnail, which will bring up a larger copy. Right below the image you'll be able to choose from small, medium, large and original image sizes. Choose the size you want, then when it's in front of you, put your cursor on it and then download (rightclick and "save-as" onto your desktop). If even the "small" size isn't small enough, you should be able to download the thumbnail too.

Hope one of those works for you.

Alissa

I've got three kids (13, 10 and 5) they take a lot of time. My wife now has a job on Monday to Thursday evenings - which means I get to cook dinner for the kids.

I have been known to fly my twin line stunt kit or my twin line foil kite.

My French car has a problem with the clutch, so I've got to take it apart (to get the engine out). That should keep me busy for a while.

A large chunk of September went missing because I had to organise a cycling time trial for 91 riders. That involved learning new things like mail merge in Microsoft word. Thankfully I don't have to do that again until Sept 2006.

Plus Ducati took 1st & 3rd at Sepang this weekend. Bravissimo!

A Ducatista riding a Triumph?

OK, you asked...

[geekout]

I loved my Monster, but after one season (6K miles) I realized I needed far more snort than it could provide. I wanted to stay with the mark, but the Ducati price-to-performance ratio is too high for my pocketbook. Didn't want to go I4, since I'd really liked the twin, and also didn't want to go UJM after being all stylie on the Duc. The Daytona was the perfect answer: more HP than a Duc literbike (except the $30,000 R, which I'd happily accept if somebody'd bankroll me); more style than all the Japanese literbikes put together; and a triple, the perfect combo of twin-ish torque and engine braking and I4-ish snap. Nice broad powerband, totally snarky triple howl (esp w/a Two Brothers carbon fiber can), great suspension (though I'd consider an Öhlins upgrade next year), top notch braking.

And comfy, who'd'a thunk? I did a 2,800-mile 7-day trip this summer, about 700 slab, 2100 twisties, and it felt great.

[/geekout]

But I keep the name, because I like the way it sounds, and because Ducati is without question the greatest moto company, then, now, and ever. (I live just an hour from Milwaukee, so my opinion is not widely shared in these parts.) OF COURSE I watched Sepang. Valentino who?

Glad to hear your wife rides, ancho. Anna and I don't have as much company as we should!

I need to get more inventive with my life. My daughter is taking scuba lessons with an eye toward underwater archaeology.

Choose "play free online", it will play through an ad and then put up a puzzle (once in a while it will ask you to register....just click "maybe later" if you don't want to). Some of them are very straightforward, some have pieces that change colors (like today's--not my favorite feature but quite popular with a friend of mine who's colorblind, as it gives him a competitive advantage. I believe some post scores--the amount of time it took them to solve the puzzle, althought I don't.) You can adjust the number of pieces, etc. There's a different one every day. NAYY, but it sounds like you might enjoy them too.

Happy holidays,

Alissa
