Okay, I'll go first to post to this forum..

Anybody have any hobbies here outside of erging and rowing?

Me??

Outside of chasing my 2 kids around, I enjoy playing just about any sport, but i spend most of my time playing volleyball and videogames. I'm pretty passionate about both, so I'd be happy to discuss either of them..

They're both very active, they practice Tae Kwon Do, ones a yellow belt the others a Brown Belt.

I've got Doom 3 on my Xbox, but I just havent had a chance to work my way through it... I keep telling myself I will start it, but other stuff seems to come up..

What do you mean, you like to learn how to share photos on the web? Are you trying to create your own website? do you have any HTML experience? or are you looking at using photo sharing websites, like shutterfly or kodak Easy Share?

I like movies too... though I dont get to see many at the theaters anymore.. tend to wait til they release on DVD. I think the last movie I saw in the Theaters was Star Wars Episode III.
Sportbike riding — aka Railing the twisties. Worshipping at the Church of Speed. Eating alphabet soup. Annoying the Amish. (Though we are in fact very well behaved when we happen upon a buggy.)

People don't have to "join" to see your pictures and you can present multiple sizes of each image so people can choose the size that best suits the resolution of their monitor. Each time you go to the site, you'll see 3 or 4 galleries that have been voted by members as some of their favorites, so those are good ones to look at to see what people can do w/ the site's capabilities. NAYY. But really enjoy using it!

Good luck w/ your photo sharing.

Alissa
I prefer the flickr interface.

Photography, snowboarding and loving my kids are my top three although any outdoor activity ranks high.

In regards to photography and sharing/displaying your work www.photo.net is very good IMO. You can load as many pics as you want into your own gallery, sort them by subject into different folders and post them to the general forum for critique and review. I haven't posted anything for a couple of years but my folio is here if you wish to take a peek.

If you want to see some really amazing stuff go to the main gallery and navigate to the section with the site's top photos.

Have a good day!

Mark

Other than family (my youngest is a 15.5 year-old girl) and running my own business (which takes plenty of "free" time ... ha ha) it's:

> Watching and following NHL hockey with my daughter
> Alpine skiing (almost every other weekend in the winter) w/family
> Trying (still, after 30 years) to become even mediocre at GOLF w/my wife

Golf is a problem, because the time commitment is something I (we) haven't been able to rationalize vs. spending time with my (our) family. Any ideas?

Regards! -- Mark

I told myself I had to lose 15 lbs more (total of 30 since I started erging) and keep that weight off for 3 months, then I'd buy the Xbox 360 as a reward. I'm hoping to have it by Spring 2006.

All the new rosters and rule changes should make it really interesting.

I grew up in Philadelphia, watching the Flyers play and win the Stanley Cups in the 70's.
Unfortunately, I live just outside Washington, DC.. so its hard finding many people who get excited about hockey here.. its just not a hockey town. We just got digital TV a few months ago, so I"m gonna sign up for the NHL Package via cable! Woohoo!! I'm so excited!!

Try being a hockey fan in Columbus, Ohio!

My daughter and I go to every home Blue Jackets game. We're hoping the salary cap, roster shuffles, and new rules give us a shot at making the playoffs this year.

I grew up near Princeton, NJ, and used to listen to the Flyers/Rangers games on "transistor" radio (if you are old enough to remember what one of those are!). I used to put it under my pillow when I went to bed. I could listen to the game and my Mom and Dad were none the wiser ... at least I thought so. I'd fall asleep, the batteries would run out, and I'd be out of luck until I could convince my parents to ante up for another 9V battery. I have a feeling this would have been the "dead give-away", but they never made an issue out of it and neither did I!

Regards -- Mark
