I don't think that's Carole MacNally unless she also rowed another race today. She was on erg #13 at 1:45 and I don't recall a maroon top.

However I think the optimal style is a personal matter. It depends on relative strenghts and weaknesses of your body. Considering his very good upper-body strength, his early opening of the back might be the optimal stroke for him. Tom
