Problems with PM2+ and Rowpro 4

Post by jizkid » May 19th, 2014, 3:50 pm

Hi,

Recently having problems with my PM2+ interacting with my Rowpro version 4.0

Setup works fine in "Just Row" mode but if I try to run a workout I get the following error message :-

"There appears to be an issue with your Concept2 PM Version, and RowPro is having difficulting communicating with it. Check to see if there is an error on the Concept2 PM.
Make sure that the light is green on the bottom of the 3D display and that a description of the PM is beside it."

Any help welcome!

You should contact DigitalRowing.com for support.

I used to row with a PM2+ and got it sorted with V3.0.

I ran with a KeySpan USB to serial adapter and had not problems once Digital rowing sorted out the comms properly as I used to get a "Noise" message all the time.

There may be changes in V4.0 that are causing problems but I would also try the earlier version of V3.016 first and see if the problem goes away.

In the long term your better off going with the PM3 or PM4 because 99.9% of people are now using this and not a PM2+. Being a graphic display on the PM3 there is also much better interaction with RowPro as you can change the lower half of the screen to show relative meters and other features.

Thanks for your input.

I used to have V3.016 but my set up was working fine with v4.0 so not sure what has changed. Maybe an update to windows 7 ?

I never realised you could retrofit a PM3 or PM4 to a model C but have just been reading up on the concept website. Think I'll be upgrading

In the UK there are two Concept2 dealers
http://concept2.co.uk & http://therowingcompany.com
You WILL want to compare prices between the two.

There's also a forum at http://therowingcompany.com/forum where more of the UK and European folks hang out.
