Oh, the horrors, Izzzz! No rowing for two whole, entire weeks????? Listen to your doc, and let your arm heal properly.

In January, I banged my elbow into my standing freezer. Over the next 2 weeks, the bursa sac over my elbow filled up to protect my wounded elbow. It didn't negatively affect my rowing, so I ignored it. My doc said to wait a couple of months to see if the swelling subsided - which it didn't.
Today, at my doc's recommendation, I went to a "Hand to Shoulder" doc for this bursitis. He took an X-ray to make sure there were no bone chips or spurs (there weren't), drained what he could from the bursa, pumped some cortisone in, gave me a sleeve to protect the elbow. Instructions: No repetitive elbow movements for up to 2 weeks as it heals, see him back in 6 weeks.

That leaves me with weight lifting, bike riding (I signed up to do "Bike the Drive" 30 or 45 miles on May 25th on Lake Shore Drive in Chitown, so I need to be ready), and other elliptical-type gadgets like the ARC Trainer to keep my fitness levels up & my weight down...

Then I shall rise up through the ranks...

Oh, Lisa, you are BAD! However, I do admit that I had the niggling thought---with Izz out of commission, I will rack up those km and I'll be unbeatable!

That being said, where are David and Diana--last year's big loggers? I rowed and rowed and rowed, and I knew I'd NEVER catch up to them......

Yeah, looks like the erginator has rehabbed his calf, all right! I think his new job keeps him busy so he uploads his meters in big chunks now.

That pronounces as "Refuah Sheleimah", meaning "Complete Healing" in Hebrew. Now you might not be able to say it better, but at least you can say it as well!
And I will try to row with my teeth in the meantime!

If any of you guys want to get me to extend the "Bike The Drive" drive from 30 to 45 miles, I would have to be able to raise some funds from the extra pain. I'm offering the option of donating by the mile, but starting at 30 miles...
