Hit 93 here today! That won't last (at least not yet), but I am so glad the upstairs AC was just fixed (that's where I row).

I will trade you! 105 with 90% humidity here. Takes breath away. Like you - glad AC works in my gym area! The bad part will only get worse the next 4 months.

Happy rowing!

If your are looking for yesterday's stats, so am I. When I went to the team page I could not get on. It said my log in name and password were not valid. When I went on as a guest, I saw that everything I have posted as far back as I looked has vanished :o I have no idea what happened. I tried to send an email to retrieve my password, just in case I got it wrong, but It said my email address was not in the system
If this has happened to anyone else, would you please let me know how you resolved this issue.

The plot thickens. I did a search on the name "Ron". Posts came up where someone else mentioned my name, but not one of the posts I made and signed my name came up! The only way I could get back on to post again was to register. I used the same user name and password, but was not told these were already in use, so I looks like I WAS totally wiped from the records. I guess I shouldn't have made those comments about the NSA

Ron... RON... wake up, man. You're still in bed. Were you having that rowing team dream again?

That is amazing. I noticed there was some kind of glitch. I thought I'd check back later. But I didn't notice that you were the TARGET.

I'm sure they can get this straightened out - but probably not until tomorrow.
Until then, look on the bright side... all credit card purchases made while you don't exist are FREE.

Well I'm still here, whether or not Concept 2 thinks I am. Welcome and welcome back to Paul Robertson, Greg Halac, David Wilson and Richard Miller. Great to have you aboard. I'm sorry I didn't get the numbers posted yesterday. I spent a very nice day with my Mom and Sister and didn't get back home until quite late. So you get a double helping today. Hope everyone else had a great Mother's Day.

On a little bunny trail. Some of you may be wondering about my Latin quote: Dulce et decorum est, pro patria mori. It is a quote from Horace and is often translated as " It is sweet and honorable to die for one's country". I chose it, because it is inscribed on the tombstone of "The Man That Never Was". He was the poor vagrant who had died homeless was chosen to impersonate a military aide whose plane crashed off the coast of Spain just before the WW II allied inavasion of Sicily (Operation Husky). He was found by Spanish fishermen, turned over to Spanish authorities and eventually Nazi agents. In a briefcase he was carrying documents contrived to lead the Germans to believe the allied target was either Corsica or Sardinia, not Sicily. He also carried an identity made up from whole cloth. It did not convince the Germans fully, but created enough confusion to make the invasion of Sicily somewhat easier. Much of the information about this operation (Code name "Operation Mincemeat), has only recently been declassified by British Intelligence.

I feel a little bit like Buckaroo Banzai  I've been shifted to a different dimension
I emailed C2 yesterday, but haven't heard back yet. With all the strum und drang I was at least able to get enough meters to go over 28 MM lifetime. Only about 12 million more to go to circumnavigate the globe :?

Congrats! On a mere 352k lifetime, numbers like 28MM hurt my head!

By the way, although I've not checked my exact figures, the last set of stats certainly look correct - for me at least! We'll make a computer guru of you yet :-)

Well, 9988 is a double double, which is also the double of a palindrome (4994), which makes it a little special.
But probably more importantly, it's a little less meters while I rehab my knee a bit.
Some knee trouble started to become more and more persistent. And I started to think that my rowing might be aggravating it, and that I might have drifted into a bad habit where maybe I came just a tad too far forward (for me) so that i'd have a little more oomph on the drive back - while trying not to slow my pace, as I added some more meters. Who knows? It's really hard to figure these things that take many months to present themselves. But it's one theory. And now my knee seems to be recovering :) - which is really good, because another theory was "You're just getting old, and there's nothing you can really do about that."

And carrying on this scholarly tradition, I will close with a Latin quote:
In caelum cerevisiae est nullum, Itaque hic bibemus illum!

Translates to "In heaven there's no beer, that's why we drink it here!"

K2 Unplugged....

Post by Kona2 » May 13th, 2014, 9:06 am

Hallooo Lunies! After a week of being K2 unplugged, I'm back to the land of computers. It was a great week of desert golf, although arriving back in Denver to 38 degrees and snow was a bit of a reminder from Colorado that there's a reason we have a mountain range called Never Summer....

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 5.12.14

Post by Kona2 » May 13th, 2014, 11:44 am

Welcome back to Mike C and G-l-o-r-i-a M - always good to see Lunies returning for another fun season of erging !

Thanks to Ron for keeping the stats for the last week - although I did not expect that he would become the Man Who Never Was. Wasn't that the premise of the Bourne character ? It's a plot, Ron...you've been listed as one of Vermont's spies!

Meanwhile, bear with us as we do the transfer of information here. I think I've got the numbers captured for today.

Season meters as of 12/365 = 4,373,916 m (well done, Lunies!)

Total meters on the day = 356,424 m

Oars in space (participation) = 51 percent Whoop, whoop and hooyah! BIG numbers!
