Howdy

Congratulations to all for the milestones and achievements!

I’ve more or less recovered from a respiratory infection that seemed to come out of the blue. Sensibly (not something I usually equate with) I have stayed away from exercise. So back over the next day or so, before we head off into the Australian Outback for a couple of weeks of touring and photography! :)

Cheers, Baz

Post by Kona2 » April 3rd, 2014, 1:40 pm

Image Aeration plugs...from a distance, these plugs look like the dogs had a party in the yard and invited all their friends. One of the April sorts of things is do get the lawn aerated so it can breathe and go green green green. Aeration was scheduled for today...but. We've not had a lot of rain or snowfall in the last month, and I was reluctant to fire up the sprinkler system when yesterday's lows were predicted to be in the low 20s (F). So I deferred it. Last night, it poured buckets worth of rain....and this morning....springtime in the Rockies brought 3 inches of squishy snow. We'll be in good shape for all those little plugs that the dogs will drag in....aaaack. Yes, we're into horticulture today... :D

And on to more important stuff ! Or as Rocky used to say to Bullwinkle, and now for an important message! We have some significant meters on the team update today. I was delighted to see the ImageImageImageImage m pop up under Norma D's meter list. Because it meant that somewhere along the line, Norma felt good enough to row some meters (even though it was probably hard). After mega-rowing through our Reindeer Challenge (and earning that coveted flashing harness), Norma was throwing palindromes out right and left. The Flashing Harness led to the Delaney Bathtub! And along the way shortly thereafter, she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. She's been pretty quiet about this as she faces down a big challenge, but she's agreed to share what she's fighting with the team - because we help each other get through the hard things in life while we are busy racking up meters. And sending positrons from teammates almost always helps in a most important way to keep up your spirits when you're fighting tough things, and unfair things...and who knows...in the Universe, maybe all our positive thoughts really really do make a difference. I like to think so. Norma wanted to make sure that she got some meters in for Zander before too much time had passed. I tell people that we'll always take those 888s ... it doesn't matter when they occur. We know that person is thinking of someone and remembering good stuff. So. We have some intensely private people on the team, and Norma is one of these. I suspect it took a lot for her to decide to share this with the team (and we respect the wishes of those who don't want to share also). I encourage (as if I needed to prod this team!) everyone to send some healing thoughts Norma's way. We can make many differences in this world.

Norma, I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. You mean a lot to this team.
To quote Winston Churchill a couple of times:
If you're going through hell, keep going.
Never, never, never give up.

All best wishes
Chris

Norma, I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. You mean a lot to this team.
To quote Winston Churchill a couple of times:
