OTW has an added bit of fun where each year of life earns you a buffer of time on the racecourse. The problem is when you form boats of 2, 4, or 8 people. You then average their age and you get people like me that are young enough to destroy the handicap advantage of their older partner(s). People ALWAYS care about losing this advantage and it doesn't help when you are very new (or out of shape) and don't offset the handicap loss with loads of speed.glenmbaker wrote:I on the other hand am the confuser of handicaps. Old enough to benefit the handicap, but slow enough to make up for the benefit! Perfectly clear.
Cheer up, it is better to be old and slow than to be young and slow.
