Way to go Barbara! It is amazing the motivation that one gets in an indoor erg race. I know you are giving credit to your Lunatic friends, but I've raced in the CRASH Bs (once many moons ago - 1991 - my senior year of college) and know what an inspirational experience it can be. I hope you enjoyed the day. To have a goal of better than 12:00 and finish in under 9:30 is fantastic! I am proud of you for competing, but even prouder since you outdid your goal by such a large margin.
You deserve that treat! Enjoy!

Hooboy! We are on the very BRINK of some more million meter celebrations....hooyah...hooyah... and whoop whoop !!
Meanwhile in the Olympics, the Dutchies are dominating every other nation with their speedskating prowess...having won something like 19 of the 27 possible medals. In the women's 3000 m and 5000 m races, though, Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic was having none of that! Ireen Wust, of the Oranje, and Martina battled it out in both races...with Sablikova getting the silver in the 3000 m, and then grabbing the gold in the 5K. I guess we are lucky on our team that Peter H took up rowing instead of skating !
Fast forward to another Challenge that's currently underway: the Concept2 military challenge....you know, that one that creates some temporary duty situations! US Navy is leading the pack, and Richard T is the TOP INDIVIDUAL ERGER out of ALL the branches and affiliation. Good stuff. Kristine and AJ are both rowing for US Army affiliates.

10 K a day ... and you get your virtual pot of gold !

Well another weekend rolls around (almost) on this side of the time-line…slightly overcast in Sydney, but a reasonable weekend weather wise coming up – beach weather, so looking forward to getting out on the water for a paddle, which makes a pleasant change scenery wise to the C2 Rower in “the shed” although currently doing intervals as part of the marathon training program, so more of that planned!
Good weekend to all, Baz
Good weekend to all, Baz
