One thing I noticed is that, in the Open Men, the top 10 times were all under 6:00.0 for the first time since 2006.
Mid-30s, 6'0", 230lbs (working on that.......), 6:54.8 2k PB (1:43.7, March 2015). Occasional OTW rower.
Don't believe everything you read on the internet!
Other PBs: 1k @ 1:39.9 (March 2015).

Check out Rick Bayko's report on another thread. It is the best one you are likely to see.

The junior heavyweight women was an awesome race between the two Germans and the American. One of the German girls would have slammed her back on the rail if her coach didn't catch her right when she finished. They went 6:49, 50 and 51 with the American winning with an awesome sprint.

The only one I know of is Luanne Mills, F lwt 75-79. She has 9 WRs still on the list at this time, in both weight classes, several events, and several age groups. She has been a regular winner for a decade or more. Overall she must have achieved well over a dozen, since some of them have been broken.

There are only 3 2k WRs listed as being set during the 2014 season. The other 2 are Benton, hwt, and Ebbeson, lwt, both M 40-49, but those were set earlier in the season, not at the C-B.

I happened to see the lady who came in behind Luanne at the ATL Erg sprints on Feb 1, Jean Daprano. She was a qualifier from ATL. I was the other qualifier and did not go once again to Boston. Everytime I read recaps from Boston it incentivises me to go in the future. If I keep my rowing up, I'll try to make it next yr.

Jim.....you would have won. Not just by times, but your competitive nature. You would be looking for a spot to hang that hammer by now. I'll be there next year....hope you can make it.

One thing about a race, you never know how things will work out. Maybe I could have won the division, but now it is speculation.

If a year of training, etc produces good results, I'll make a strong effort to get to Boston next year.

BTW, thanks for the confidence in me. We'll see.
