A great day shaping up in the Harbour City today…

Good rowing and congratulations to all the milestones over the past few days. I’ve just commenced the C2 marathon training program to build endurance so I can (hopefully) get back on track for the mountains I want to climb, and I’ve been resisting the temptation to do too much too soon! Adding, I am a great fan of the C2 preset training programs as they have been put together by some of the best minds in fitness and training, if you've never taken a look I recommend you do sometime...

Good weekend to all. Beach weather in Sydney…! B)

Cheers, Baz

Awesome Rowing by all!! Love our team effort and spirit! I have been doubling my effort of 15300 meters on the Seahawks win this week - not rubbing it in Kona... I looked up tonight when I posted and saw that I broke the 10 million meter mark this week as well - so it has been a great week all in all!!
Happy Rowing,
Ed

I love a good story, and the Jamaican bobsled team continues to be a GOOD story. This is the third Olympics (I think) where a Jamaican team has qualified. This is the first team since 2002 to qualify. As other Olympic hopefuls commented, it is not easy to get to the Olympics - no matter how much practice you do or how good you are. Even the logistics of getting your sled and gear to the Olympics, and uniting team and its gear is not an easy thing. Seems that the Jamaican bobsled team arrived in Sochi on Wednesday, ahead of their supplies and equipment which were on a later flight. The team apparently shipped protein powder and other goodies in with their equipment, and it wasn't obvious under Watts put on his helmet and was treated to a slosh of protein powder all throughout the gear, that security had opened containers. Instead of getting really upset, Watts offered up a classic statement. He said "We are from the sunshine." What a great way to view the world...we need more smiles and sun. Wishing the Jamaican team all the best of luck and a good running.

Meanwhile, back in the Rocky Mountains, after three days of really, really cold temperatures...I discovered that the hot water line to the washer had frozen...and the Great Thaw has been time consuming, yet successful. Warm water can freeze faster than cold says a doctrine called the Mpemba effect, so named after a Tanzanian cookery student who discovered that a hot ice cream mixture froze faster than a cold mixture. Much discussion in my household today about whether warm water had more air bubbles in it and was that why it froze quicker. Probably another one of those deep space mysteries...

Season meters as of 282/365 = 130,633,426 m

Total meters on the day = 10,331,791 m ... I know. Astrogator almost faints at those kinds of numbers.

Oars in space (participation) = 35 percent
