LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I think I already sent in my drink order in a PM. but just in case...
After briefly consulting with the master reference (The Lucid Lunatic), I think I would like to order up a Walter Bishop. I'm not sure of all of the ingredients - I suspect only someone of Guinan's credentials is privy to such information - but I'm pretty sure it contains at least a dash of peyote (and probably some red licorice).

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I have a wild and crazy New Year's Eve planned...I'll squeeze in some final 2013 meters, and then go through my filing cabinet to get rid of outdated documents and make folders for 2014 stuff. I'm sure I'll be drinking a glass of red wine in real life, so I guess that's my order for our virtual party too.
If my memory serves me right, I joined the Luna-Tics January 1, 2013 (just in time for the VTC), so I'll be sure to toast to a year with the Luna-Tics at midnight.
Happy New Year's everyone! Here to another great year!

Well we saw in the New Year a few hours ago on the east coast of Australia, fireworks in the city of Newcastle, about 140 klms to the north of Sydney!
Up for a 10,000m row in the back yard at silly o'clock and as it is quite humid I'm off for a swim at the beach as the sun peaks over the horizon.
Happy New Year to all…
Baz

DITTO ON BG'S THANKS!!! Thanks, too, for welcoming a newbie for the Holiday Challenge. Looking forward to the New Years Eve party and VTC to follow. If there's still some champagne, Guinan, I'd have a little, please (after my KGB coffee).bg wrote:happy and healthy everyone :}thanks for hosting jane....i'll have black and tans till midnight and then some champagne, please..got to love our virtual party....in real life i don't drink...and welcome and welcome back to all of our luna-tics....and a huge thanks to k2 and da do ron ron for stats and aj for all of his art work...see you all next year....or this year for some of you folks :}
Gee, Baz, envy your beach weather. It's 1 degree C (34 F) in my neck of the woods.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Greetings from 10-forward and a Happy New Year to all! Above is our virtual bar table with some recipes as follows:
danwho certainly had the most challenging request this year with a Walter Bishop. I have of course chosen a Strawberry MIlk Shake. It has tequila for two reasons: One - adding the worm will make it a brain shake and two - too much tequila should help with the space/time continuum in that you might loose a day.
Strawberry Shake Tequila
Ingredients
397 grams sweetened condensed milk
475 ml single cream
125 ml vodka
125 ml schnapps (strawberry)
75 ml tequila
3 tbsps vanilla extract
2 tbsps strawberry syrup
1 ice (cupful, or as needed)
Baz – Cooper’s stout
Kona- has requested a Cosmo,
2 ounces (1/4 cup) vodka
1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) triple sec
3/4 ounce (1 tablespoon + 1 1/2 teaspoons) cranberry juice
1/4 to 1/2 ounce (1 1/2 teaspoons to 3 teaspoons) fresh lime juice
1 2-inch orange peel/twist
ice
She also is receving many drinks orders from across the bar including 3 cheers from baz, a martini from drive to fast and a champagne toast from Andrea
Richard has requested a Maker's Mark mint julep
1 liter Maker’s Mark
Lots of fresh spearmint leaves
1 cup distilled water
1 cup granulated sugar
powdered sugar for garnish
Mint sprigs for garnish
Champagne for Minnie
Red Wine from sarahaddams
Glogg Scandinavia - this involves cooking for 45 minutes - from macbruce:
1 bottle of red wine
0.5 Liter inexpensive brandy or vodka
10 cardamom pods
1 cinnamon stick (broken down)
1/2 orange peel (dried or fresh)
1/2 lbs sugar (regular or lumps)
Optional additions: 5 cloves, 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 cup almonds, 5 dried figs
A KGB coffee for normadelaney
1/3 shot Kahlua® coffee liqueur
1/3 shot Galliano® herbal liqueur
1/3 shot Bailey's® Irish cream
Andrea is having a gin and tonic and and Soin an Italian Apple Martini:
1 ½ oz DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker Schnapps
¾ oz Amaretto Almond Liqueur
¾ oz Stoli Vanil Vodka
1 splash Cranberry Juice
1 splash Rose's Lime Juice
Barabra – black and tan and then champaign
usually Guinness Stout with Bass Ale.
Kristine has sent a request for her own drink called Christmas Egg:
Mix 1 part eggnog,
1 part half and half and
1 part DeKuyper Crave Chocolate Truffle Liqueur,
on the rocks with a dusting of grated nutmeg.
Me? I'm having a mudslide: Baileys, Vodka and Kahlua.
All others are getting grog and a bunny trail:
The word originally referred to a drink made with water or "small beer" (a weak beer) and rum, which British Vice Admiral Edward Vernon introduced into the Royal Navy on 21 August 1740. Vernon wore a coat of grogram cloth and was nicknamed Old Grogram or Old Grog. Modern versions of the drink are often made with hot or boiling water, and sometimes include lemon juice, lime juice, cinnamon or sugar to improve the taste.
Row safely into 2014!
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Well done Guinan Jane! And good thing we're talking virtual beverages ...
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
My dear Guinan, you have clearly outdone yourself. This elixir is nothing short of perfection, sublimely delicious and curiously potent. And the time-bending properties were not overestimated. I was looking where Minnie was pointing, and clearly saw Mr. Tomorrow. And Mr. Tomorrow, that shed of yours is Aus-some!!
Happy New Year, All !!
Happy New Year, All !!
