The holiday challenge really seems to get us in the mood.. a big thanks to K2 & AJ for providing the extra motivation, you guys are awesome. Bring on the Virtual Team Challenge, need to lose a few pounds after all this food... Steve W
I think the first year that Concept2 community reached the $30K goal was in 2011, and we made it again last year. In fact, we blew it out of the water and what was cool was that Concept2 matched the extra $$$ earned anyway. Each of those Challenges were in the 30 or 31 days to complete vs the current 27. It's amazing what a difference the four days can make, because I am not sure that we will earn the overall donation this year. We are ahead of earnings at a similar point in time for last year by a couple of thousand - everyone is really trying to get the full donation - but time just might be a factor this year. And, looking ahead to next year, we will have similar number of days to complete the Holiday Challenge. The number of participants shot up from 22,000 to 27,000 as many enter the world of the rowing Challenge for the first time.
The Virtual Team Challenge is a delight in a whole different way.... here's a view of some of our teammates who participated in a previous year....

Funny thing is that the movie wwas filmed in Cleveland (30 miles from me), the orginal house is a big attraction this time of year. I guess the downtown Cleveland had not changed much since the 50's...secret code warning.......Drink more Ovaltine!

Welcome to new teammate Steve G of Ferndale GBR! We wish you many great rowing and/or ski-erging sessions and much good camaraderie!
Ready to get back to some semblance of a routine? Hooboy! I am there....ready to move to the next milestone! Well, the January Virtual Team Challenge will provide the opportunity to set a pace for yourself, and to get after those new year's goals. First, though, we have to have our Virtual Team Room New Year's Party. How does that work? We have a team bartender who takes the orders for the beverages of choice - and many of these are certainly galactic in nature. Then, on New Year's Eve, those who wish pop into the team forum with a comment or two or three. The next day, the VTC starts and we're off and rowing and ski-erging! Whoop, whoop will certainly be the theme! Any volunteers for team bartender this year?

On your marks.....
A team forum anniversary of sorts for me....I joined on this day six years ago....lured by the Virtual Teams Challenge, and knowing that I needed to belong to a team to participate. See what happens when the erg addiction strikes!
Welcome back for the 2014 season to Chuck - always good to see returning teammates! AND....I see that Baz has signed on for the Virtual Team Challenge, so perhaps he is healed up and ready to row!

72104-my zipcode. I was home alone, set the counter, listened to about 8 hours of Beatles music, and rowed. I took 5 five minute breaks.
Wishing everyone a Happy and healthy new year.
