Just in the nick of time, Paul R earns his reindeer by rowing enough meters to meet the Concept2 donation! Whoop, whoop and hooyah! His reindeer is Buckaroo, and he will help us tremendously when we are in the 8th dimension...

Welcome to new teammate, Kevin M, of Canada! We wish you many, MANY great rowing and/or ski-erging sessions and much good camaraderie! Kevin brings enough meters to have earned the Concept2 donation and free up a reindeer. And since our sleigh is going to be very full, we are going to need all the reindeer we can get to help us put down the hammer on our sleigh accelerator ! And his reindeer Thor knows all about throwing the hammer!

Here I was all set to just say Happy Winter Solstice, and someone not only moved my cheese....they tilted the planet, and talked about true solar noon and the fact that the earliest sunset of the year has already occurred on December 7th here in Denver. Still, December 21st is the shortest day of the year whatever the convolutions of sunrise and sunset happen to be at your latitude. The Atlantic published an article called The Astronomical Hijinks of the Shortest Day of the Year http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/a ... ar/282109/ Happy Winter Solstice...we'll keep it simple before I get a brain cramp this early in the day. :D

Image Day 24 of 27....getting closer to reindeer flight time....

So many milestones to celebrate! And the number gnomes were particularly busy this past day - with at least 13 number "incidents" to celebrate....and, wouldn't you know it, the forum website believes that TEN is the maximum number of smilies that are possible...so rather than seem to number diss anyone, I won't put smilies after the number games today. Rats. As if there were a maximum number that could be attached to fun. Seriously. That is just wrong thinking!

Season meters as of ImageImageImage / 365 = 82,417,215 m

Total meters on the day = 2,677,114 m

Oars in space (participation) = 29 percent

Oh, the pressure. Marshal, my uber-competitive reindeer, must have all possible bling for his herd appearance!
(This is the hardest $7.84 that I've ever earned!)

Hey everyone, have not been around here in forever, but hope to be able to get back to rowing sometime soon and get helping the team again.

Baby boy is due January 30! This is my first baby, so everything is new, exciting and somewhat terrifying!!!! :D

Had to quit rowing sometime back as my belly got in the way and my form was not good. I took the opportunity to finally learn how to swim. Swim lessons were cut short in October when I became sick as can be with horrible sinus and upper respiratory issues (including an awful cough) that kept me down for well over a month. But ever since have been a-ok.

Again, look forward to joining the rowing team again soon!

Kerry

Best of luck to you, Kerry. I and my daughter are both January babies. Soon you will be telling your little one, Mommy has to make a reindeer so Santa will be able to bring your presents.
