Am assuming you're asking about the names? Oh, it can be very creative ...stay tuned - we usually have a big herd of reindeer....jayne_jayney wrote:what happens when 9 reindeers are claimed?

Yay! Wiki has a page devoted to reindeer names btw... Intending to do a lot of kms this weekend, maybe even try a half marathon, so I may be claiming next week!Kona2 wrote:Am assuming you're asking about the names? Congrats on 11MM - my head hurts just thinking about that sort of distance

As Yoda says, there is no try...only do! We love first EVERS....just in case you go for that half marathon....there is still plenty of time to get one of those done before the rowing season wraps up....no pressure....

and many thanks for all your efforts to keep us all energized!
Glad to be back "in the boat" and on the Forum on such an auspicious day!
Happy rowing,

P.S. Yesterday's uploaded meters are from a number of sessions after being sidelined due to a shoulder injury.
Dasher gets the flashing harness...
Wowzer....some serious meters pounded out by Ben today, and he's reached the third reindeer award level: the flashing red harness of a lead reindeer. Between those antler lights and that flashing harness, NORAD won't have any trouble tracking Dasher! Well done !

The Three Reindeer
Sorry for the delay in reindeer naming! I felt compelled to go back and review last year's team chronicles for the Holiday Challenge. There were a couple of really good names, and a few that we'll just say that we tried once and we don't have to go there again. Kind of like vegetables you're not overly fond of....
Jim (SILVERHEELS)
There was a bunny trail of the mind last year where Clement Moore (the one who wrote The Night Before Christmas) was discussed, and mention was made that this was different than Clayton Moore (who played the Lone Ranger in the TV series). At that time, I wrote we need to have a reindeer named Silverheels. Jay Silverheels was the fellow who played Tonto. The next reindeer was earned by Jim, and sure enough he was given the name Silverheels. And then Jim's son Jay told us that Jim's Dad had given Jim a Tonto and Lone Ranger pocket knife in 1957, and that Jim still had this prized possession...and it was very fitting that Jim received the name Silverheels for his reindeer. I tell you, there are no coincidences ! So Jim gets Silverheels one more time, and a hearty congratulations for earning the Concept2 donation as well !
Cathie (ROCKET)
Congratulations, Cathie, on reaching the 100,000 m milestone in the Holiday Challenge, earning your Concept2 donation and freeing your reindeer. Rocket is living in the land of the Midnight Sun!
Ken G (THUNDER)
Ken G also reached the Concept2 donation level, and claimed his reindeer. Congratulations on freeing Thunder !
