All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 11.29.13

Post by Kona2 » November 30th, 2013, 2:10 pm

Whoosh! That's the sound of another month flying by as the team rows and ski-ergs through the year!

Usually wait until the 1st of the month to whoosh through...but wowzer! Seemed like there was a lot of time at the beginning of November....where did it go?!

Welcome back to Mike G - also known as TMITWH (the man in the white hat :D ). Great to see another returning teammate on the roster!

Image Day 3 or 4 of 27...!

And the FIRST reindeer is claimed.... Ben Best has reached the 100K milestone in the Holiday Challenge. That not only means that he's earned some Concept 2 donation dollars - it means that he's claimed his reindeer. Now for some of our newer teammates, our reindeer tradition might need some explanations. At 100 K (50 K for adaptive rowers/ski-ergers choosing this category), you "earn" your reindeer. And that reindeer gets named. At 200 K, the antler lights appear. At 300 K, I believe it is the flashing reindeer harness. I will have to go back into our Reindeer Chronicles and make sure I have the sequence correct. Great thundering hooves !

Whoop, whoop and hooyah! Peter G has sailed across the ONE million meter milestone marker for this rowing season - with a fine half marathon! There was a victory statement in that half marathon (let your meters do the talkin' as some would say!)! Congratulations, Peter G, on achieving a ONE million meter rowing season...we wish you many, MANY more! Great update on your team profile, too!
Thanks Kona for the shoot-out! I appreciate your thought that my half marathon was a planned statement, but unfortunately it was more of a Holiday Challenge catch up and a response to Thanksgiving Day over indulgence! ;)

I hope everyone had a safe and happy holidy!

Welcome to a new teammate - Jason H. We wish you many good rowing sessions, and much good camaraderie!

The weather outside is delightful...but snow is coming very soon...again. Outside lights are almost all in place - there are always a couple of strands to replace. Gotta get these things done before the snow flies...

Hear hear. I need to play catch-up, now the turkey's a mere memory; and am ridiculously motivated by the reindeer. This is a lovely graphic; good find!

I was wondering why OD rowers don't get a reindeer @ 50k. They start earning money @ 50k. Just a thought

Reasonable that this question should be asked. Sometimes things do fly under the radar (like reindeer :D ). The individuals have all specified when they would like to receive their reindeer: some are indeed at 50K, and others are at 100K. As we all know, the OD folks often carry the rest of us through a challenge - they are all very disciplined rowers and ski-ergers who are very capable of generating mega-meters! Glad to have their support! And yours.
