John, those are impressive results! Keep up the great work! Eating lots of plant-based whole foods (beans and greens!) helped me lose the last five pounds. Along with heaps of rowing, of course!johnb wrote: Thanks for the support Lisa! I have one other big goal. Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I like pie!!! I know I'm not posting many meters lately...my niece needed help moving then wanted me to build her a bookcase, after that I helped a friend move and she needed a table...only so many hours in a day! My friend made me that pie with the giant "K" on it! I must have changed my metabolism or something, haven't gained an ounce of weight! I'm still working on the table but it'll be wrapped up by the Holiday Challenge...I'll be ready to put up some meters by then! I'm headed down to NC to see my brother & sis-in-law for Thanksgiving, they have a "virtually unused model d" so I can post from there the first few days. Maybe I can finally get them to join our team?damselfly wrote:Yes, that challenge is coming up fast! We will be tracking challenge goals for it just like we did for the FTC, as well as tracking funds raised. 200k is a great goal -- helps keep those holiday treats in check! (I noticed Kyle has changed his picture to a pie already... )
The Holiday Challenge also raises money for some good causes. Each rower can select the charity from the list C2 is supporting this year. Details on the Holiday Challenge page.
So it's not too early to be thinking about those goals and posting them!
The low temps have been in the 20's this week...1st snow on the ground...we have turned the corner!
The accomplishments of folks on here is outstanding! I enjoy reading about them. Does anyone on here own any old clothes? I don't.
Take care -Kyle

My problem is I eat the pie before the run. And then don't run!
Wow, a carpenter AND a blacksmith on the team! If we're ever ship-wrecked, we're in good shape!

I demand pictures of this table. Our blacksmith gives us pictures. We'd like to throw some appreciation around this joint.

Andy, my specialty is making big pieces of wood smaller...hence the mini Mt. Everest I've created out of sawdust behind my shop! The table is based on the "hayrake" table that was in Fine Woodworking, only this one is shorter, taller, and will have a drawer. My friend wanted to use stools instead of chairs. Its made of ash...why ash you ask? because I have a boatload of it!Quatroux wrote:I demand pictures of this table. Our blacksmith gives us pictures. Doesn't the Blacksmith make sawdust too? I can't be the only one!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Very nice! I think I'm as impressed by the table as I am the fact that you still have all your digits. It is rare to meet a woodworker that still has everything intact.
I can't wait to see the table when it is finished. You can't really touch anything most of us make for a living and I think humans are worse off because of that.

Holy cow, nice work, Kyle!! I thought I was doing well to make a birdhouse or two. Nice that you still have all your digits and ocular devices still intact too!
I dunno where Cap'n has gotten off to. If he hasn't found some time to post the past few days by this afternoon, I'll fill in. Off to my first real exercise in two weeks. Been off my game lately with what the doc thinks is arthritis, along with some self-induced attitude problems. Need to just get back on the horse, even if it's only at a walk.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Good week! Lot's of rowing! Dropped 2 more pounds since last official weigh-in. Started reading D P Ordway book, I like it. I do my rowing at the gym and tend to listen to music, but lately sometimes I just want solitary peace and quiet to be able to focus on my rowing & my breathing more deeply, and just be in the moment and let go of external stresses and pressures. I am looking forward to tomorrow's row already. Now I get why folks want their own rower at home.

Getting your own rower is great if you can swing it. They sometimes have great deals on C2 machines after big regattas or crossfit competitions.
