I was talking about overtraining and recovery. What the Thorne study indicates is a biochemical basis for using it to prevent catabolism and to aid in repair from other trauma. While this isn't a direct measurement, the processes to repair trauma are the same regardless of how you do it.<br /><br />The other article includes many other sources than the Romanian milk protein studies.

Although that's how many people start out, but when their competitive urge takes hold, it becomes a lot more complicated and serious. As you push your body to beat the next person or certain goals, at times your body starts to suffer from the extra work and strain. In these situations a well balanced diet will not supply all your nutritional needs. Extra nutrients are required. The most precise, convenient and concentrated form of obtaining these nutrients comes via Supplements.<br /><br />Taking supplements is not cheating nor harmfull, unless it's a banned substance, hence is banned for those reasons. If legal supplements are available to everyone, just like full body suits to swimmers and carbon fiber boats to rowers, why is it cheating? If you choose not to take them, or compete in a timber boat because your a staunch traditionalist, then you can proudly take your position at the back of the field.
